I just got that same damn $7.00 notice.

I'm gonna mail a check. My sanity is worth the $0.73 for postage and their time for processing.

    It's called the IRS.

Saw something about the IRS the other day.
They know how much you owe and they don't tell you. You have to fill out a form and hope and pray you get it correct.

The local IRS branch and I have an understanding.

They understand that I don't like them.

I am planning to be there at least on Saturday morning, possibly Friday night camping but not sure yet until closer to that date. Sunday when we all head out, Plans changed, won't be coming this year. I'm continuing my adventure westward to see family in New Mexico and not coming home until damn near the end of October. Boo.

@Thatbassguy maybe you could throw a poll up on the OP to gather how many are joining for camp and or trail runs? Just an idea. Not urgent. But also please get it done in 8 minutes like last time.

Are you guys getting these in the mail? I haven't got one yet, maybe I got lucky not having my front license plate installed lol.

I don't want to get into bannable subjects (which honestly this shouldn't be because it's just facts), but it's not the IRS' fault. Companies, especially Turbo Tax, lobby (bribe) politicians to keep it that way so they can make money on tax prep software. And in the words of Forest Gump "that's all I has to say about that" because I don't want to go on TW vacation, and I don't want to de-rail the thread any further.

100% IRS' (and Congress') fault. Software companies are there to help sort your way through the mess that is the tax code. Hell, even Congress can't figure their own mess out.

Already looking forward to the trip. Is there any reason I'd want to go to Madeline Island on Sun.?

So you can take pictures and share them with us.
Also, to remind us that you're retired and enjoying not having to go work.

Rub some more salt in this wound we call work.:D

Internet is full of bananas, understandable. Don't go searching AI sites for them though - I've seen things now I can never recover from.

Damn dirty rats got me too.

But wait. It says it’s a first notice. Well, maybe they’re not so bad if they are offering to send reminders.

Seems some of you are a bit touchy about this retirement thing. Ain't my fault my folks f'kd in 1958.

And I'm just trying to give a little encouragement...to not put it off. It's also not my fault their parents took so long to f&ck!

    Not salty. Envious.
Putting as much away as I can, now.
The more I put away, the less I have to wait.
That, or I become independently wealthy...
    whichever comes 1st.

Not touchy, just putting my time in and looking forward to day I pull out of parking lot for the last time. Every day is 1 day closer to retirement.

I'm thinking of taking off Fridays until the end of the year or the whole month of October
