Absolutely, it's pretty awful how close to disaster we are all the time -- at my service we were discussing how school districts were pretty reluctant to close, even though schools/children are a disease vector on a good day, because for a lot of kids school is the only time they get a good meal. A few friends and I have been working with Second Harvest and other groups to try to get food out to the community.

I expect to see domestic violence, child abuse/neglect, and suicides to go WAAAY up in the coming months which really fucking sucks.

I think a lot of people (I'm not saying this to you or anyone in this thread at all) are pretty ignorant of the struggles of a huge majority of the population.

but Amazon and USPS are overwhelmed, accepting a huge additional risk, and - in the case of the USPS - at risk of losing funding and/or being privatized. This pandemic is everyone's problem, and it's unfair to shift responsibility onto the people who are already taking unreasonable risk, some (as BKF mentioned) because they don't have other options.

I don't have any solutions, though. I'm not that smart. I'm just doing the best I can to reduce my own impact, contain my personal risk to myself and my home (and not my sick mom, or other older or more susceptible people), and minimize my drag on the people still doing their jobs.

exactly. the most we can do to help, is to stay home and help to reduce the spread and not put additional burden on those who are working.

The milk dump is bad for the farmers but if there is no processing plant to process they have to dump, cows don't come with a spigot that can be turned off.
Look in the stores, cheese is getting hard to find as are other things.
This is going to get worse before it gets better as it climbs the supply chain, just this week we lost a big supplier, Smithfield had to shut the doors cause workers got infected and still showed up to work.

Smithfield is one of the largest pork suppliers.

    Whos next??

Air manufacturing is back churning. Boeing is opening back up after a 3 week shutdown. Aviation Distribution has been crushed like in every other aspect of America. General aviation has increased with concerns of traveling with others. This has increased private plane and chartered flights. That’s good news for my company as I’m back to work Monday. We’ve been shutdown for 2 weeks. I made a horrible mistake logging into our company payroll system this week. I opened my 401k account by accident while trying to access my vacation time. Don’t open your 401k! I did.... I tell myself it’s only 20%. I tell myself I’m reinvesting as the markets are low.

As always if anyone needs something, I would do my best to help any way possible. Stay safe and hope to have a meetup not to long from now.
I’m penciled in with the wife for the camping trip in August! I’m sure we will all be ready for a trip. Thanks @Thatbassguy for setting that up!

My wife and I have been putting a large amount away for early retirement for 20 years. According to our current investments, 4 of those years never happened. I'm hopeful they bounce back, but I was sick to my stomach. Think of all the mods I could have installed...

You mean putting up with us Bastards? Or battling the rust on your Tacoma?
