Hmm, so a stock OR would make it on these trails? Don't wanna scratch my paint though.:anonymous:

A stock OR will make it on anything in WI. No promises on the paint though.

GQ leads a support group for everyone affected by scratched paint and the trauma it causes.

If you just think of the pin stripes as racing stripes then problem solved!

I ran it on stock tires and suspension last year - only a couple hangups, but nothing major. Definitely some pinstriping will occur without paint protection, but it'll buff out.

I may have a few pinstripes now,

but I took it pretty well. I will need to buff that out at work so the wife doesn’t give me crap about it.

Any 4wd tacoma would be fine in a large majority of the country if you put on decent AT tires.

Thanks guys. Another thing to think about. They allow SxS on the trail? That's already all scratched up...

@Shellshock is mostly correct. There might be a few exceptions. There is a rock climb on the Pipeline that would be foolish to attempt without full skids and sliders. There is a bypass, though.

S×S's are prohibited on some sections of the Pipeline, but I see them there occasionally anyway.

Check out the USDA forest service MVUM maps of the Chequamegon Nicolet National Forest to be sure you stay where you're allowed.

It's not just the scoop. That rock is fairly steep. I am totally blind going up as well.

People don’t give these trucks enough credit. I took my stock Tacoma with lame stock tires all the hell over Colorado and NM 4x4 roads the first year I had her.

plus Wisconsin is super mild for off-roading.

Totally agree. I’ve been all over as well. I’ve put on some AT tires and thats the extent of it.

The bypass is not a stroll in the park, either, though.

Glad I had a spotter! Going up it could be interesting, too. We only went down.

So far it's been quiet here down by the border.
Went for a ride today and downtown is a ghost town, all boarded, up most of the damage is around the courthouse and post office and 60th st back to the hood where they burned and trashed what's called uptown, which is 22nd ave between Roosevelt & 60th st.

Most interviewed on news said they believe most of the trouble is from out of towners.
I think the same, watch the news and there's an awful lot of Il plates in the pics.

Fun? It was the highlight of the trip! Keep me on the list when you go again. Life has been pretty crazy with COVID and work - we're busier than ever right now - but that just means more $$$ for upgrades!

Hoping for a day trip in September and maybe a Friday/Saturday trip in late September, maybe early October. Any dates you would want to shoot for?
