    Good question! :D

    We stayed here last year:

    Birch Grove Campground
    https://maps.app.goo.gl/8dk3MkA6dzwmZ5bz7

Birch Grove. Nice sites, between 2 small lakes. That's the plan.

I'll be leaving early Friday morning and try to get a site established by noon-ish. We'll try to get 2 sites, so if anyone else is coming earlier, let's coordinate that.

I figured we'd hang out there for a bit, and then head to the Apple Festival maybe around 3-4, depending on when everyone is arriving.

Dinner in Bayfield, no reservations as of now. We walked into a place last year and got seated, so we might just wing it. I'm open to suggestions here. @Pixeltim mentioned a place at on point. There might be street vendors at the festival, so that's another option. Then, back to camp and maybe a bonfire.

Saturday morning, we should have breakfast at camp, and try to get on the road by 9. We'll cruise around and explore the routes guided by @pearing . We can take a break and have lunch at some point. We'll probably plan on being back at camp a little before dinner time. Eat dinner, bonfire, and BS.

Sunday morning, I plan on having coffee, and maybe breakfast, and heading out. I'm going to take the scenic route home, or maybe head south on the T.W.A.T until mid afternoon and then head home. If I end up running south on the T.W.A.T, anyone would be welcome to join me. I haven't decided yet, though. Might depend on the weather.

There had been talk previously of taking the T.W.A.T. to the Delta diner. It's a thought at any rate.

We can try that Saturday if group likes, but we will be pushing it for light on the Mt Whittlesey run. If we can get out by 9 (which I guess will be 10) we won't be off the fire tower until after 11. Take at least an hour to wander over to Delta as there are some roads to drive that are less used. 12 at Delta Diner puts at 2 back on the road (they are very slow) and we are at minimum an hour and a half to the trailhead. Take a bit to get everyone to the mine. Take at least an hour there and then to the top and an hour plus back to camp. Which is a guess close to 6 and it is dark here by 6:30ish these days. Don't get me wrong DD is a treat but... time.

If anything, we could try to do the Delta Diner for lunch on Sunday. :notsure: That is, unless we're all heading home after breakfast.

I'm still pretty open about Sunday. I thought I'd take the scenic route and do some fishing. But, taking the T.W.A.T down to DD sounds appealing as well.

I'm open to ideas, but I think it's going to be a hassle to try to get there Saturday.

Ok, cool. I'm hoping to get there by noon-ish, but I'll let you know when I hit the road on Friday. I'll take a look at the park map and see if there's any particular sites that look good. OTOH, I think you'd probably pick the same ones I would.

It was on the way home Sunday that I thought was being discussed. I'm easy though.

Okay... I did a thing and didn't ask. I invited my friend Clay and his girl to our get together. He is a certified Toyota Master mechanic AND drives an FJ (one of the new ones.) Assuming I can be forgiven??? Planning to camp with us for sure Friday night and probably Saturday as well.

Just a heads up for planning. I have no interest in Apple Fest, so... I will eat with my family Friday evening and go get a fire started and hang at camp until you all return. Depending on weather, I might bring my trailer up as well... I can handle rain but I don't like camping in the back in the snow...

Relentless Fab hybrid bumper, 2.5” Dobinsons IMS lift, RCI skids and sliders, block heater. Painted FJ Steelies. Was trying to keep it stock, now slowly building for the Wisconsin trails.
I'll be there alone this trip. Just filled out the poll. So far I am the lone tent camper who also appreciates sours.

I plan on taking the T.W.A.T south on Sunday as well and ultimately running the whole thing.
I'm cool with stopping at the Delta Dinner on Sunday as well.
I plan on camping at Spearhead Point Sunday Night. 45.32755, -90.44527
I was also considering a quick stop at the abandoned ELF antenna military base near Clam Lake Just because. 46.08489, -90.91769 For the record there is nothing to see here but it is interesting history.
And if it isn't pushing it I might run out to the 45 lat 90 long marker. Maybe on Monday morning. 45.00000, -90.00000

Overall I am leaving myself open to exploring anything that looks interesting.

    Yeah! Glad your coming!
I wish I had stopped at Timms Hill on the way down to Tigerton, Highest point in WI, and I have never been in the vicinity before... but I was on a mission to get there and I would have been even later... But I know where it is now!

Your Sunday sure sounds interesting. I hadnt realized that antenna array was situated so close. I remember it was said it was way up north….but then I remembered that we’re in fact, going way up north lol. I may tag along…

Timms Hill is near my in laws house. Small restaurant up there called Hill of Beans, pretty good food. Mary had an uncle with a farm up there. It was the highest farm in WI.
