    Appreciate it guys.

We ended up getting a contractor that a family friend knows and he came over with a camera and the right gear.

My parents place is older so there was a "house trap" that was keeping us from getting to the real problem.

Plus, HD charges for the full time you reserve the snake even if you don't end up using it for that allotted time. Go figure.

Sure enough camera showed roots and a blockage. They're going to figure out if it's mostly on the property side to see if the city can alleviate any of the costs. He suggested changing out the section completely and adding an inspection pipe to make it easier to maintain if needed in the future. Quoted a pretty penny for it too.

I moved out ages ago but I'm helping out with what I can when he decides what to do. Luckily the house is paid off and he's a lot better about saving than I am.

We're currently renting but now I have another thing to inspect for when looking at a new place :goingcrazy:

Good to see you're helping out dude.

Also, if you ever want home advice, I will happily talk your ear off. After purchasing my home in Tosa 5.5 years ago, everything that could have gone wrong...has gone wrong. Granted, I'm in a good spot now and thankful for my home in its current state, but it was definitely a fixer-upper beyond my expectations.

Yeah, we're on our second home purchase and both have had their share of surprises. I just got off the phone with a structural engineer who came out a couple weeks ago to inspect a slight sag in the floor in one of the 2nd floor bedrooms. The house is just about 100 years old. We really want to put in new hardwood flooring up there, but can't do that until this is addressed, and it's gonna be pricey!

Our previous place had the root problem, choking off the old clay drain pipes. We learned after 2 incidents to just have a cleaning done annually. ABC Plumbing was who we found to be the cheapest and quickest and they did a great job.

Hope everything gets tidied up soon for your folks. Don't hesitate to ask for any advice out here. Handy truck guys are generally handy home guys as well in my experience. We're resourceful and have a lot of good tools!

According to my buddy who has the root problem in his rental, get some copper sulfate and pour it down the cleanout every couple months to kill the roots.

He's been doing this for a couple yrs to keep the drain clear and says it works.

Glad to hear you figured out the issue, I hear you about it pretty much costing your first born to get it fixed. Another thing my wife and I figured out the hard way on our first home was to NEVER use flushable wipes. I believe it was because we had clay pipe so the wipe would catch on the broken section of pipe or the root that grew into the pipe and clog it up all over again. There was A LOT of learning on our first home. Our second one is quite newer so not as many problems yet, but we haven't even been in it a year.

Copper sulfate was the recommended way to do this years ago, but is controversial now because it also kills helpful bacteria that help break down other clogging elements. Of course that controversy could have been created by "big plumbing" when it was taking away jobs... o_O

We are in the process of a kitchen remodeling. Plumber was here Wednesday hooking up new sink and water lines. We had him snake out the kitchen drain line. 30 years of crud built up. He got it all cleaned up.

So does Tigerton have any oddball requirements like a flag, etc? Never been up and I’ve bought one, or 5 too many whip flags at the badlands when I’ve forgotten.

I’ll have my Bun welder, spare CV, and spare front wheel bearing with if anyone needs them.

No flags required and 37" tire max.

Here is the park page with rules and restrictions. https://www.tigertonwi.com/atv-trails

I attached a PDF of their Safety checklist that must be filled out.

Also have spare CV axle, inner & outer tie rod ends(x2).

    Awesome, thanks!

I'll probably throw in some of the miscellaneous spare second gen parts that I don't need if anyone wants things. I'm pretty sure I've got some brand new second/third gen tie rod ends that are no good to me since I'm on GM 1-ton ends/heims with a clevis adapter on the rack.

I'll be a game time decision whether I'm Thursday night or Friday night arrival. Yellow/Holland going under has made things a little hectic in the office this week. If it's quiet-ish, I'll probably come up Thursday evening.

Yes, I'm heading up on Thursday after work. I haven't reserved a site for that night yet though. Wasn't sure if someone already had one or not that I could squat on. Or I can add 1 night to my existing reservation (but it's not a river site).

The last time I looked the site the I'm sharing with Dean @rubbersidedown is open Thursday. Figured I'd get that site so I don't have to move.
