200 series? You can get the heritage edition this year. That would be a sweet ride

Buy a house or a LC? Decisions...

But for real, the overseas ones (79 series for example) have me sporting a semi - especially those that are kitted out. Such a contrast with US models, especially the V8 turbo diesel.

Ronny Dahl for reference, great 4x4 resource - and his 79 series has me all like :drool::drool:

Yeah.. I’d take a 79 series. I saw the patriot campers black truck at expo west when it was here in the states. If you haven’t watched the patriot games videos on YouTube, you should. The most recent vids are from where they did the alpine loop and some other passes in Colorado with exploration outfitters and XO

Yeah, 70 series were really cool looking. I don't think we had those in the US.

We do not, sadly - I believe it is due to EPA and safety regulations

Funny thing is, the landcruiser was developed as a knock off Jeep. If not for the old Willys Jeeps, The Landcruiser might not have ever been.:goingcrazy:

I'll be running my makeshift dash cam.

If anyone wants to film some of the dicking around and edit it and put it up there, that would be awesome!

I might post some clips eventually.

If anyone wants to bring any beer to share, I have some little plastic cups.

Does anyone have any questions at this point? I'll be in and out of reception once I arrive tomorrow morning.

I'd offer to post gas stations, grocery stores, ETC, but we all have Google.

@Old Swamper , do you think you can make it to Boulder Lake by 9:30am Saturday? I'd like to hit the road by 10, and it would probably be nice to have a little time for introductions.

I'm still debating which end of the trails to start on. Starting on the southend probably makes the most sense. But, we can discuss this Saturday morning.

I want to have a lot of time for the trails on Saturday, as there's a few nice places to stop and look around. I think it's nice to take a break every hour or so, and stretch out.

I'll check in here before I hit the road in the morning. After that, I'm hoping to post information about the campsite by mid-day.

    Looking forward to seeing everyone!

I have plenty of leftover beer that I was saddled with from a recent bachelor party I attended - granted, it's Miller Lite, but I'll bring it along for those who would like some. I'll most likely have some scotch as well.

Camping people- I had to improvise as the group sites are closed for the year! the website did not indicate that when I was trying to make reservations a month ago.

I'm currently set up on site #3. I'm hoping that we can get sites 2,3,4, and 7 occupied as soon as anyone arrives tomorrow.

I called, and they won't let me occupy more than 1 site. If anyone can get here this evening it would help a ton. I would gladly pay for all 4 sites, but I would need at least a license plate number to fill out the envelope. I have extra equipment that I could put on the sites to make them look occupied.

For now, I'm just hoping no-one shows up until tomorrow. I'm nervous, though, as there's already about 15 other groups camping. I'm pretty surprised, considering the time of year and the weather.

At the very least, if anyone would be willing to PM me their plate number and vehicle information, I'll try to get 3 additional sites locked in first thing tomorrow.

If anyone else has any ideas, let's hear them.

See my real-time location on Maps: https://maps.app.goo.gl/Qs78811jbRhLYrTRA

Here's my location, if Google doesn't screw it up.

    Good man!

I won't ask for money for the beer, by the way (and the first pour of scotch), just to avoid any confusion.
