Yeah, I don't do any extreme rock crawling and I figured it was worth the gamble to save $200. Haven't installed it yet but it feels/looks like it'll do just fine.

this is part of why I decided to go the Aussie swag route. Mine has a pretty decent 65mm thick memory foam mattress.
With the wife coming along I’ll be using the regular tent so I will have this
    https://www.rei.com/product/148193/rei-co-op-camp-bed-self-inflating-sleeping-pad

I like it because it’s 30” wide for my, how shall I say, American physique.
It’s self inflating but I can add more air to make it firmer if needed.

I have a couple of the self-inflating sleeping pads from Thermarest and one from REI. Been using them for years and love 'em. Good stuff.

    So true!
isn’t there some rule about firewood being locally sourced due to trying to limit the spread of tree disease or some such thing?
If not, I have a bunch of logs I’d be glad to bring.

It's a state park regulation, yes. Good general rule of thumb to follow, in my opinion.

Wow, those Exped mats look nice!

Resisting.. urge.. to.. upgrade.. o_O There's no way REI would get one shipped to me before the weekend, right...?
(He says, knowing full well there's an REI store 20 minutes away.)

Prolly because it's kiln-dried. Guessing that gets rid of the nasties, like Emerald Ash Borer.
