I need your guys advice... I have 10 days off in a row which rarely happens in my industry. Should I A: go spend them in the U.P. or B: ball out to Colorado and run trails out there for a few days?

Plenty of easier trails out there.
But at any rate I'd say CO or UT with that many day off. You can always go to the UP on a long weekend.

I'd say it depends upon weather. If it's 100° and sunny in Moab, go north... If it's reasonable out west, I'd do that in a second. Even in 2wd... :boink:

And that's exactly what it feels like lol. My wife has never experienced the Phoenix heat. The first 110 degree day was the first time I ever heard her say she's hot.... And that her eyeballs were sweating lol.

But now we are in Monsoon season so there is a little more humidity.

Oh there will be some mods all right
So the UP is an absolutely wonderful place and 10 days would let you have a very thorough exploration of several key areas. On the other hand Colorado is also an incredibly beautiful state (Even more beautiful than the UP if we're being honest because mountains are just amazing) so it boils down to if you would rather spend more of your time exploring and/or sightseeing or if you would like to have less time dedicated to exploring and sightseeing (as a result of the drive out and back to Colorado) but have the time that you do spend be higher quality than the time spent in the UP.

Moab is a hard no for me in the summer. BTDT. Never again. Triple digit heat that seems never-ending and night time lows in the 90's. It's difficult to get any real sleep. Dry heat is less miserable, but it is still miserable. On the flip side, some trails in Colorado are still closed because of too much snow. And I can build a fire or put on more layers to stay warm. If it's hot enough, I can strip down to my birthday suit and still be miserable.

I've been to CO more than I've been to the U.P. and I've never lived more than 3 hrs away from the U.P..

I'm kinda leaning towards Colorado but I'm worried about not having skid plates yet. I really want to do the alpine loop and a few other trails out in that area. I found a trans Rockies trail that I'd like to check out

    Thems fightin' words, aye?

    Nothing.
I just like the mountains and if opportunity were knockin', I'd open that door.
I wouldn't mind buying a place/some land in the U.P. to retire on.

I've seen that Moab has been experiencing some flooding.

Dave,, you and your birthday suit is not something I want to read about prior to eating.
