There's some cool roads in that area between Rock Dam and Hatfield.
Just north of Black Rivers Falls.

Been there, had great fun! Wife unit even drove some of it right after I got the truck.

I'm pretty sure we went through there on the "ice road truckers" trip a few winters back.

Definitely looks like an area worth exploring. I seem to recall seeing some interesting looking stuff on the aerial pic. Just need to figure out what are roads vs ATV trails, etc..

..love? I'm sure that's what you meant. :D

Well, to keep from going insane and get the truck a little dirty, I ran up to Crivitz last weekend for some turkey hunting for the first time. Left here around 3:30ish Friday afternoon, scouted, made some dinner at a buddy's cabin, had some beers and crashed at 11ish.

Popped back up around 3:30am to sneak into our spot. Does came around until the chorizo and potatoes built up enough pressure to be let out by one of the guys

Then finally got some action around 8ish when some Jakes came in to put a beat down on the decoy. Considered taking one but they never separated enough to get a clean shot. The one I locked onto to suddenly decided to tuck and stay still.....

Then a big Tom came in on our right with his hens. They tried calling him in but he just strutted and let the jakes go right past him. Hens led everyone the opposite way. Ton of bramble in the way and it was way too far of a shot for comfort. Screenshot_20250426-104621~2.png

Overall a fun little getaway. Most of the roads we drove on were on private land but there is some beautiful scenery up there.

Ended up really jealous of @LarryDangerfield having it all right there but the guy definitely takes advantage and gets out there to enjoy it. He's got the pictures to prove it!
