I need to get back home to Wisky but probably not going to be until Summer. Got a pub crawl on bikes to attend in Miltown - the Tour De Farce in Bay View.

If I could get a MT in a 4Runner, I’d buy one. I’m sure a lot of others would too..

There's times I wish it was a manual. But, I prefer the auto in some situations.

Nice! I was just reading on that caliber. I just picked up a Ruger MPR 5.56 and already looking at a 6.5 Grendel upper for it.
Palmeto State Arms has theirs on sale right now for a decent price.

FYI, I booked a group site at Boulder Lake for August 20-23, Thursday-Sunday. I decided to try the trip in August because there is an event in September that I don't want to compete with.

Anyone interested is welcome to show up and leave anytime during the trip. We'll do a trail run on Saturday, the 22nd, provided they don't shut down the pipeline.

PM me or reply here if interested!

just to confirm, considering the shelter in place order, the TWAT run for this weekend 4/18 is off, correct? Work wants me to do a client install that day, and I wanted to be sure.

Correct. I'll edit the post. I might go for a drive one of these weekends, but I don't think an organized event is a good idea right now.

    Thanks for reminding me.

    Yeah, you should come!

Dead man no one is out. My mom is high risk so I decided to move into my girlfriends place in Lincoln Park and just drop off groceries and do shopping for my family while they stay home. I get from the city out to the burbs in less than 15 minutes. No traffic at all. Been going on daily runs out here in the neighborhood, some people walking their dogs, lots of little kids at the parks. People are wearing masks and distancing but everything is fine. News makes it seem like the apocalypse is here but it's bullshit. The hospitals are empty.

Who knows...we [at work] are prepping for 4ish months of significantly increased respiratory-related calls. It all kind of depends on testing (to determine those who are +, or who have been exposed already), healthcare support (to keep hospitals/healthcare systems from being overwhelmed [with "flattening the curve" as well as boosting healthcare capacity]), and reducing the swells as we reintroduce normal societal functions.

I'm no expert, just a healthcare worker interested in epidemiology.

There are people in the original infected countries that are re-contracting the virus, and recent research that shoes the virus has mutated into at least two strains. So months may become years, or the new normal. I imagine we'll adapt to it, both physiologically and socially - but who knows to what extent or how long it will take. If it comes down to it, we're all equipped to load up our trucks and relocate to the most remote places on earth. :)

For sure man, I totally agree. Even looking at China's economy right now (this is like, the first quarter in 50 years that they haven't posted positive), this is gonna take a long time to recover from economically. It's just hard for me to justify encouraging reopening stuff when we don't really have a handle on how to treat those who are medically affected.

Hopefully we can weather this storm and make some pretty big changes...I am "lucky" to be deemed essential, but I know that is not the case for many. $1200 is a bandaid on the hemorrhage that most Americans are in, financially.

Sorry to derail it a bit. Just ruminating with my morning coffee.

Hope everyone is doing well, or well enough. Let me know if I can help at all.

I don't want to get into a debate over it, but when we're talking about millions being economically affected (and I'm sure all of us already are) versus tens or hundreds of thousands more dead, I'm gonna chose to risk financial loss over human loss every time.

BKF, I'm grateful to have people like you willing to accept additional risk to keep the machine working. Stay safe, my friend.
