The wheel shipment saga continues... To catch up, I ordered 5 tires and 5 wheels. 5 tires showed up promptly and 4, yes 4, wheels showed up the next day. 5th wheel has gone lost in the FedEx ether.

I have apparently annoyed both FedEx and Summit Racing (the vendor) enough and I've just received an email stating that a replacement wheel will be shipped with an ETA of Thursday. I ain't holding my breath, especially if it's coming via FedEx again.

    To be continued...

Hi guys, serious topic here. If any of you can chime in it would be appreciated.

Mrs Archimedes just had a relative in Waukesha County pass away. We are in Vermont, and will probably need to be the ones to deal with it. It's not exactly a hop and skip over on-the-fly situation, nor could it be a frequent event thing when it does happen. We are trying to start working through the process.

I was wondering does anyone have any suggestions of a probate lawyer or similar to get in contact with at the local WI end, and possibly set them up as to run things there as necessary. We of course are trying to look for possible people from here. But you know locals usually know the best sources and experience (and who to avoid...) Obviously looking for a decent lawyer / organization, on the up and up, etc. that normally does probate stuff. Anybody local to this area with a suggestion? Hopefully start with just a 5 minute no-fee talk just to ask if they can handle the situation. Trying to avoid getting a $300 charge just to ask "do you do this and are available?"

    Much Thanks in advance
    Arc'

I lost my mind recently, not sure which shipping company to blame for that though. Hmmm.

If the delivery person entered the shipment as delivered, even though there were only 4 delivered, they may never 'find' the 5th. Once the shipment is closed, that shipment number no longer exists and the wheel would be in limbo as the shipment shows complete. It will go to FedEx depot somewhere and end up on Ebay or something since they can't ship it.

Sorry to hear about your loss! I haven't personally dealt with any lawyers so I can't help. Hopefully someone here will know someone good.

While I can't discuss personal/professional contacts, DeWitt is a great firm to work with - I'd recommend starting with them.

    My condolences to your family.

Another thought...When you got the delivery email, did the pic show 4 or 5 boxes? Bastards will make a mistake and then try to blame you.

What a shit show! FedEx has slipped quite a bit in the last couple of years. Just be glad they didn't use DHL...

Sorry for the loss. You'd be best with someone local to Waukesha as they will be familiar with WI law. I'm not local, but I'd trust Pat's @WiscoPat suggestion.

FedEx takes a picture now of the shipment when it gets dropped off.
Did you ask to see it?
When the wheels got dropped off did the shipment show 4 wheels scanned or 5?

Sharing some photos from the road since some others expressed interest:

More or less my trip plans starting the first Friday night have gone off the rails lol. Never made it to Tigerton until Saturday afternoon and then played on the trails for a bit with Pat, Dan, Rich, Cisco, and the ladies. Thanks again for sharing food you guys rock. Most pictures on my other camera so here’s one of my truck all clean beforehand, now with cap rack + traction boards + shower awning on other side:

    IMG_6244.jpg

As everyone was leaving Saturday morning, I started doing some homework (yes actual homework) but then Carlos & Ingo showed up earlier than expected. Wasn’t hard to choose what’s next, we went out on the trails. Here’s the only one I have on the phone of @McSpazatron ’s 4Runner and some nice foliage.

    IMG_6315.jpg

Carlos & Ingo went to play on the level 6 rocks down by the fence and I chickened out because I need to not break things at the start. So instead I scouted the waterfalls and where to take photos for tomorrow….

    IMG_6264.jpg

    Well, tomorrow had other plans…

    IMG_6267.jpg

And that ended that. ‘Twas a bit soggy.

    IMG_6269.jpg

I was having some issues like breaking my camping chair and missing a few supplies so I headed to Green Bay for shopping and homework at the library to get it over with. Camped at Bayshore County Park - @Stoney Ranger hope you’re having fun in Moab, thanks again to you and Kim for the beer bottle coozie it’s getting good use!

    IMG_6299.jpg

Still dodging rain everywhere, weird weather system. Hiked to some tiny spring fed waterfalls at Maribel Caves County Park today, nice but not super exciting. Kind of a gloomy cloudy day for the most part but okay for hiking.

    IMG_6307.jpg

And finally the sun came out for like 30 seconds as I headed for camp. Too tired to know what’s in store next, that’s a problem for tomorrow’s me. Nighty night, TW.

It’s almost becoming tradition for me to see you off on your trips…almost an exact repeat of last year’s “Tour de Tigerton” lol. Glad you hung around! The rig looks fantastic btw.

I didn’t end up with many picture this time around. It was fun to see Ingo’s jeep crawling some crazy lines…but my phone was always in my 4runner when that happened. The 4runner, once again, did not disappoint and did a fine job leading the jeep into fun play areas.

The colors seemed to be pretty much at peak. Beautiful day on Sunday.

Yeah, this is where the order got weird. Last Thursday when 4 were delivered I checked my camera and saw just 4 put on my front stoop by the delivery driver. She then walked away without scanning anything or taking a picture. The order was never closed. In fact, there is no indication in the tracking that the 4 were dropped off. Tracking simply states the order is delayed...

So does that mean that they have no proof that any of the wheels were delivered?
