They come right out. I'm a short emmeffer, the bed doesn't go all the way to the boards. If necessary, the bed moves easily. Besides, they only have to come out if I get stuck. :D

Got the Mickey Thompson Baja Boss ATs mounted today, one size up from stock. Overkill for my use, but I dig them:

    20230408_151202.jpg 20230408_151218.jpg

Initial impressions are good overall. They do have road noise similar to a hybrid tire. Interestingly enough they come in at 16/32 when new in standard load, which is close to my Nitto Ridge Grapplers in load E (granted, they're not mud tires) - very impressive for a passenger rated tire.

I posted this up on the 2nd Gen forum, but thought I might let you guys have a crack at it as well thinking you might be a bit more helpful:

2015 SR5 Dblc. 3" Dobinson lift with long travel rears on Alcan springs. 255/85r16 Km3's that have been religiously rotated every 3k and have 30+k on them. Tom Woods one piece drive shaft. Stock gears

So last week I got to go play in Moab. Couple days of fun and then trying to get up to Top of the World in the snow had a bit of a problem develop that ended up being a few shaved spider gears in the rear end. Rocky Mountain Backroads 4x4 got me up and running so I could go home with a new Eaton E Locker. Ring and pinion were okay and reused. On the way home from Moab (to Wisconsin) I noticed a significant vibration at @75mph and another at @45mph. Never had them before.

Today I rotated the aft end of the drive shaft 90 degrees. The vibration at 75 is gone. The one at 45mph has moved up closer to 48mph but is significantly reduced. I believe a regear (which is in the future...) would solve this as the truck only does the vibration when its in 5th gear, at @ 48mph and turning 1200rpm. Bump it into 4th and it goes away. Short of a regear does anyone have any ideas that I should try to alleviate this problem? Again, had none of these issues before the rear end problem. Thanks in advance!

I'm not an expert, but I did recently stay at a Holiday Inn Express. Joking aside.
Maybe the driveshaft needs to be rebalanced.

Tuning in for this one. Ever since I installed my Ironman4x4 lift I have more noise, but not a vibration, up front between 45 and 50mph. I can't figure out where it comes from. I had another alignment done and that didn't change anything, but at least ruled out alignment or tires. I also notice slightly more noise and maybe a very slight vibration starting at around 67mph through about 75-ish. It's nothing major or violent, but I do wish I at least knew where these issues were coming from.

Sorry, don't have an answer, but if either of us figures this out, maybe it will give the other more clues to address it. I have the long body, of course, and have been told that things can get a little weird with them when you futz with the factory suspension. Keep us posted on what you find out, and when I get back out I'll be sure to check on what gear I'm in when I hear the lower speed sound and see if bumping it a gear one way or the other has any effect.

Funny story to share: this morning on my way to my Saturday morning coffee meet up, I spied a young man in a red Dodge trying to climb some of the snow mountains we have here in Ashland. I flipped around-game on! Put the truck in 4 lo, engaged the locker and had a blast with this kid trying to out climb each other. Made a heck of a mess in the Jiffy Lube parking lot but who cares. He said he thought I was going to come yell at him...

    Captain here.

Torque converter shudder. It's a second gen issue. Sounds like you're just starting to get it. Service the transmission asap (fluid, conditioner etc) [and get a real flush, not just a drain and fill]. If it goes away for a bit and then comes back, it's your torque converter. Replace ASAP.

Long boi vibration problems. Both gens have the issue, difficult to truly dial in, recommend axle shims for the trail limos, seems to help the most.

I saw this at Pick 'n' Save earlier today. I had to stop and drool a bit, and I figured you guys would appreciate it as well.
