Sounds like a generator might be the next house mod...speaking of spending money.

If I can talk the landlord into buying one, I could actually make money on it. :bananadance:

I'm talking about a standby generator. We install generators that are always ready to go, and come on automatically in an outage. That's what I would do if I owned a home out here.

I guess you need to buy a house out there!
Or just live near civilization, where the power never goes out. :boink:

Are you seriously calling Madison 'civilization'? (To be clear, I wouldn't consider Milwaukee any closer to civilization) :boink:

You have NO idea what it means to live "out there"... but I will say that the power seldom goes out, but when it does it stays out indefinitely.

I think Madison is a tad more civilized than Milwaukee. Either way, I'm glad to be in a rural area now, power outages and all! :D

Got the rust converter/primer sprayed today. It says to give 24 hours before top coating, so I guess I will be starting on my spray on bed liner tomorrow after work.

Spark plugs are done. Progressively got cleaner. First one was in the worst shape. Only took about 2 hours with wiping down the engine bay after.

Passenger side was as easy as everyone says.

Driver side.....what a pain in the ass. The two brackets and all the brake lines in the way made it so much more complicated. Definitely could've used more extensions. Finally got my 3/8 torque wrench out of it's box and got everything torqued down to specs.

Kindergarten me would be ecstatic that I get to make a fake sword out of extensions instead of markers next time

Quick dinner while the filters dry and then back at it again for the transmission fluid.

I can definitely see why labor costs are what they are. On the other hand, getting hands on everything and learning more about my truck is priceless.

Just have the new tires and an alignment left and she'll be all tidied up for Tigerton.

That combined with a few wobble extensions makes it even easier.

Fingers crossed! I went over them quick with a wire wheel and found a couple of small rust bubbles that seemed to have come out of nowhere, and wiped them down with acetone. I bought two big cans of the spray-on bedliner, and I plan on doing at least two coats. Should be good enough for the girls I date.

But, after this whole thing, I could definitely see myself just paying someone to sandblast and powder coat them the next time around. This has been a lot of work. And, you probably did the hardest part! :D

There was a time when I considered Madison to be civilized. That’s no longer the case. It’s devolving rapidly.
