I just keep think about the girl at work and her Jeep. Her group was up by Mountain the same weekend we were.
Her Jeep and another Jeep ran like crap after a day on trails. She used to talk up her Jeep a lot. She's been real quiet the last few months.

But they do drive though and get stuck in the deep holes. Probably the same holes James walks into with a stick.

My waders have probably saved me a lot of headaches!

To your point; I've seen more reckless behavior from Jeep drivers on the occasions I've run across them on trails than I have in the entire combined time I've spent on TW outings. If that's any indication of the typical abuse they see, I wonder if some of the problems people experience are self induced.

Heep=invincible! Since I don't tow mine to pay ground I have to consider getting home... Helps with invincibility issues.

That explains why you are so timid and careful on the trails.

    A good bad decision

Sequoias are banger. Hard to find lately

    Speaking of bad decisions.....

Seen plenty of jeep people being dumb. They think they're invincible so they do dumb things. Plus one to having to drive your rig home. It makes you think twice about doing said dumb things

I don't see a ton of first gens around, either. But, they look good and would be like a mansion compared to the 4runner. Plus, I'd feel better chopping up an older vehicle.

The bitch is probably finding one with a solid frame.

True. It's kept me out of trouble a few times, I'm sure. I also took a lot of solo trips at first, which will really make you think before you try something. I got very good at backing up during that time. :D

My Jeep is the most fantastic bulletproof amazing garage ornament that anyone can ask for.

Seriously though it would actually be running & driving if I hadn't neglected it. Last wrench turned on it was 2018. It ran & drove fine just had emissions issues. Then I got an unexpected killer deal on my DD trade-in on the Subaru, which was then traded on the Tacoma. So yeah it went to the far back burner. 2023 I need to get it running again so I can have double the bad decisions / money pits for extra fun!!

Edit: Hey @Supr4Lo what up with them 33's?

In less controversial news; my 4Runner weighs 5520#. This was with no camping gear, no Hi-lift, no roof rack, backseats out, and the platform in. I'll have to weigh it again when it's loaded down sometime.

Nope. I was standing to the side of the scale. Or, at least I was while I was talking to the scale operator.

Edit: crap, now I'm really not sure. But, it sounds about right if I add up the approximate weight of my armor and tools. The drawer with my recovery gear alone is easily 100#.

No worries just curious. I think I mentioned on the radio this weekend mine was 5,450 loaded during last October's trip. I always figured 4Runners are heavier due to just having more metal and glass on the back so your 5,520 seems about right to me even without the full adventure loadout.

Yes, mine is 4750# empty, so I have a head start.

Now that I know how easy it is, I will weigh it again the next time I'm fully loaded if I have time.

You reminded me that I should scale my second gen Tacoma and then be depressed at what they weigh compared to first gens. I’m 4500lbs without me in the seat but fully ready to wheel with a spare. All my gear to wheel including spare weighs 416 lbs so the 4100lb curb weight doesn’t seem so bad.

The dually loaded and ready for a weekend is a fatty though.. This was full of gear but no water

Dually/camper for reference too. Tacoma lives in the back half, living quarters in front with a shower/bath and a queen bed in the goose.
