Just don't drive it on pavement.
The citizens of Ashland won't mind if you drive on their lawns. Heck, you probably already do.

Cast housing would be the the way to go to main stream in the long run. Still lots of cost to getting molds made for casting though. If they could get the price down to 5-8K I bet lots of people would buy including me.

Not to derail a wonderful thread, but I was reminded….

The number I’ve heard from them is a target of $16k for all four. Which isn’t terrible since it’s a combined lift, regear, chromo axle, and a big strength upgrade for the diffs with the reduction out at the hub taking stress off the R&P.

Very valid points. But the front will still flex like IFS for that amount of cash, but their target market is probably more towards to Overland market vs rock crawling.

Solar is up and charging. Not completely installed, still need to run wires back from under the hood.

Will need to cover 2 or 3 rows of cells on the panel because otherwise I get an overcharge condition in perfect light. I have extra vinyl just for that purpose.

That’s certainly where the money is at compared to the rock donkey’s. :D I think the racing side is a significant market for them too. They’ve made a big splash with the 4600 class broncos this year at KOH and U4 series races.

What are you planning to power with all that?

Caught a FB timeout for a slightly greasier take on this subject :bananadead:

IFS flexes very well, if you know what you're doing. Remember, these trucks are already midtravel once you ditch the sway bar. Doesn't take much to get them really stretching out to non Rubicon levels.

It's only a 100w solar setup with a 100ah 12v battery. Should run my fridge, charge my phone and GMRS, run my laptop, power party lights, LED lighting inside the cap, or run a small 12v fan. It will charge whether sitting with the engine off during the daytime or driving (once I complete the wiring). Should be able to be off-grid indefinitely.

edit: it's a pretty basic system, nothing at all like Adam's @wi_taco setup.

I'm glad it's nothing like mine because none of mine is installed right now, even though I've had it on the bench all winter. Yours is looking good, I'm jelly!

Took the boat out for the first time this year. Wish every time out was that enjoyable. Great weather and fantastic fishing.

Almost no wind and out on the lake the bugs weren't a problem but on shore they're definitely a menace.
