    Looks great!

I love those OEM off road wheels, but the new ones look excellent.

Thanks! After 7 winters and the dealership dinging them up doing rotations it was time for a change. I’ll put the OEM back on to run through the winter.

How the heck do you clear those front mud flaps? Your level 8’s must be zero offset?

They are zero offset. I did have to take off the small flaps in the front. They rubbed in reverse.

No wheel spacers. The offset, backspace, and wheel width all factored into it. Gave me the look I was hoping for. Right out to the edge of the fender flairs.

My wife was rolling her eye’s that a almost 60 year old guy would want a truck like this but now she’s into it and asking what’s next.

On my stock TRD wheels my BFG’s sat more inside the wheel well with a narrower stance also.

So I am a recent transplant from NC and I'm wondering how bad the winters are here on these trucks? I had two guys at work today mention I should get a "salt beater" to save my truck rusting out on me. Where I live I have to pay for parking on a monthly basis per spot so a winter beater isn't practical.

fwiw I'm originally from NJ and no stranger to snow and salt. I just haven't had a snowy winter since buying my tacoma. I planned on fluid filming the underside of my truck. Is this enough?

Keep it clean, use fluid film and you'll be fine

Not sure how the frames are on the newer tacos, but I had a 2003 4runner up until 2017. Parked outside. Ran it through the carwash weekly. It was still clean when I traded it in, aside from some minor surface rust.

Just take care of it and I wouldn't worry.

    Btw, welcome!

I plan on making a trip to NC someday. I want to go surf fishing at outer banks, or somewhere in that area.

My first vehicle was an '05 Ford Escape (I'm in my 20s for context) and had it for nine years, mostly parked outside, and did zero preventative maintenance other than the periodic wash. Didn't have too many issues, but there was quite a bit if rust on various parts towards the end of my ownership.

Fluid film and keep it clean and you should be good to go for the long haul. Personally I'm also having mine ceramic coated next week for paint protection and ease of maintenance, as I don't plan on ever selling this Tacoma.

Yes, but anything really. I just want to go somewhere where I can drive way out on the beach and fish and be away from everyone.

Redfish, black drum, shark, stingray, Jack, whatever. If it swims, I'll be happy to meet it!

    Ahh.

I think I might have been on the other side of the hill last year in the Tacoma. I came from a side road and went north until I found a rocky hill I wasn't about to attempt solo. Oddly, I don't seem to have any pictures from that spot.
