I had a great day today!

@ajmogen and I scouted the pipeline and picked a nice route for the camping trip.

We also made it to Crandon for the races. What a blast! Those guys are really flying! I'm definitely going to try to make it back next year.

My son was moving today so I had to miss the races this year. Anyone buy any tires in the pits?
Usually can score some cooper tires only raced once for about 1/4 of what you would pay in a store. Custom tread patterns and all after they’ve been modified for the clay dirt track.

My 11th oil change since purchasing new on 2/28/2017.
Oil changes under free Toyota care at 10k, and 20k Miles!
Oil and tire rotations at 25,30,35,40,45,50,55,60 and finally 65k(0W-20)
Definitely not as many as you.

How many miles you got on that thing now?

Always loaded and ready to go! Lol

i thought the newer trucks could go 10k miles on synthetic oil?
5k tire rotations also and 'try' to change oil between 3k and 4k but this time maybe 4.5k before heading on the north WI adventure in a couple weeks
i have been looking into a custom fab'd front skid or else need to paint mine, its weathered but not crusty at 126k miles
maybe paint it blue like my first toyota pickup hahah
apparently Toyota decided back then to make the front skid out of different materials and/or paint

I change it every 5k. i miss the screw on filters. I’m sure this little cardboard cartridge is fine. I’m just anal about oil.
25,000 free Toyota care at 10k and 20k
With free rotation at 5k,10k,15k,20k and finally 25k. After Toyota care ended I just did it every 5k when I rotate my tires.

Never bought the extended warranty and I am a ass about maintenance. I’m sure it’s fine but I’ve never gone more than 3k on any vehicle. I just can’t get myself to go 10k.

I go 8-12k usually depending on trips and such. Im around 10k pretty consistently. Amsoil full synthetic.

The cartridge filters are a pain. I miss the ease of oil changes in the gen 2

    Amsoil is for suckers.:boink:

Any synthetic is good for 10K in most cases. With a lot of towing, off-roading, ETC, they recommend 5K.

My '03 4runner got Mobil 1 every 10K and ran beautifully at 257K when I traded it in.

And I agree; cartridge filters are a pain in the ass! Especially when you need to remove the skid plate to get at it!

Just paint it. It’s super easy. Make sure to put in the effort for a proper prep though.

    Yep. Paint it.
9DC7FC28-76A2-4872-8C5A-E57D67FB3EF7.jpg Lucky I had time and I work at a place to do some prep. It also helps to have my buddy That bought a Tacoma Off-road at my work paint it and then bake it in the oven.

I’ll buy a Trd skid probably in a year or 2.
Need to get my step son to fab sliders first! Lol

I’ve been combing fb marketplace and Craigslist for a crazy great deal on some Tacoma TRD OFF-ROAD shocks and springs. Usually within 5k miles people pull them off and upgrade. Funny... that’s a upgrade for me over the Tacoma TRD SPORT setup. Also my ride sits 1.5”-2” lower than the stock OFF ROAD.

some of the custom ones a guy in PA made are pretty sharp in stainless steel
but not totally sure they are corrosion resistant!

trying to locate that particular thread

If it’s stainless steel it is corrosion resistant.
