Took the 80 for a Sunday drive after making progress on cleaning up the fender flare holes.

It looks rough at the moment, can't lie. There are about 30-40 holes that need to be filled in and it seems the best way is to have them welded, filled, and a respray of paint ($$$). For now, I'll be using plastic push pins or similar to keep water out.

But man do I like the look! I'm glad I ultimately did it too - the flares kept in a massive amount of dirt and debris that's etched into the paint. Gives me a better idea of the end product I have in mind, as well.

I like the look too! I remember seeing/reading the same about closing those up….welding the holes shut.

The only other option I can think of is some sort of custom thin flare that doesnt stick out that much, either applied with adhesive or using the same holes to pin them on. But I can’t imagine it would look quite as smooth.

Or just get some duct tape that closely match’s the paint and cut out some 1” circles to put over the holes.

Probably so, but duct tape has a special quality in itself.

    Red Green would certainly approve!

Taking the truck to get rustproofed today and I dropped the skid plate. Someone sure got it awful dirty up there (Also someone in the neighborhood must have been sneaking around tightening bolts on people's vehicles because holy shit were they tight)

Took my 32 fire truck to lunch today. Beggar has been very unwilling to run more than a couple of minutes at a time lately. Seem to have it sorted out. My teaching partners thought I was crazy given that I have tried several times in the past weeks to take it for a spin and have had to tow or push it back...
