How many people are left that even know what a king pin is much less how to ream and bush one??? Having done some early fifties Chev trucks I do know how, but pretty low on my interest list right now... Rather get some McNeil fenders painted and fitted to the Taco...

Would you have to fab some on your own or is that something that's still around for that ?

Haven't looked, but I have access to a lathe and vertical mill so I can make what I need when the time comes. I am sure one of the old Chev parts sites has them though. Just depends on how ovalized the axel is, and thus over sized i have to go on the pin and bushing...

I assume they might be spendy or hard to come by just by the year if someone out there does make them.

The 2 second Google search says $65-$350, but I did not check to see if they are for the bigger trucks... still out there and available.

I used that place when I had my 55 Chev truck-I think they only go back to 1941 and they don't have the commercial truck stuff. The fire truck is bigger than the pick up chassis.

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
I haven't done kingpins in over 25 years. Adjustable reamers aren't cheap. The last few years, we went to Delrin bushings instead of brass. The Delrin was more forgiving. Probably wouldn't work if the bushings are thicker...VW kingpin bushings are only 1.5 mm wall or less.

Well so I ordered alpharex foglights on august 28th and they ended up getting lost in shipping. Last week I got sent a replacement and they arrived today only to find that the foglights dont fit. The bezels were correct for a 2015 tacoma but the foglights themselves must have been for a 3rd gen tacoma because they would just not fit with my truck. So I am probably going to have to send them back and get a replacement in like two weeks after already waiting 3 weeks.

Do you have the sides reversed or the light rotated 180 degrees? I had a similar problem one time but I don’t remember which it was and on which truck. It all kind of blends together having worked on a 2005, 2010, 2013, 2016, 2017..

I know none of you live near me, but if any of you happen to find yourselves somewhat in my area, Rust Solutions is the real deal when it comes to rust prevention. Their prices have gone up along with everything else in our society but they really do take pride in spraying down your vehicle. It's not very often when you pay for a service that you can say that you literally couldn't have done a better job.
