Are those MRA long travel easy to adjust for rebound and compression damping on the fly (without having to get tools or jacks)? Have you played around with the different settings?

I’m thinking I need to get adjustables for the rear of the 4runner since I’ve added more weight. I added heavier rate dobinson springs, but I’ve been noticing the IMS shocks I have now can get a wee bit wallowy on slow compression and slow rebound.

Why not get long travel for the rear axle if I get decide to go MRA. Besides extended brake lines, what else do I need?

$8 is my highest offer and that’s generous considering this

I have an alum transmission skid and a alum transfer case skid. Slightly used and dented if you want um. I don't have the hardware and you'd need the cross-member. All of which you can get at RCI.

Also I’m looking into the tundra shocks on the rear to help valve for a bit more weight and add an extra inch of travel versus standard long travels

Could you use shakers on them like cherry trees? Otherwise, I think it’s hard labor. Maybe not hard, but tedious lol.

Ironically, all of the fluid had already leaked out before the collision anyway. :D

Considering the amount of rust on all the fittings and the overall look of them, I'd say they got 5 to 10 yrs on them and probably 60 to 80k before the accident.

All are going to need a rebuild and one needs a new res, not to mention the warren out ball joints,
I wouldn't take them for free!

:crapstorm: we don't throw rocks here, sir.... :D

Nah. Yota trucks have a surprisingly wide tolerance for fluid levels. A tad over won't hurt anything.

Now if you're in one of the cars with a CVT that uses WS.... better be damn sure your levels are within spec.

    @Crikeymike

Just make sure you follow the manual on torque spec and proper order for those pan bolts. Not a bad job at all.

Okay... I don't know is the answer to your first question: they are easy to get at and I assume they turn really easy even with mud on them; but, I have not played with them as they work great and I don't want to funk up what is already fantastic. That is the extent of my tuning of shocks.

For the second question... you need long travel suspension bits. You are going to have to figure out what compressed length and fully extended length are and get a shock that fits for those numbers on your set up. 4 Runners have leafs in the back or springs? You will have to do some work just to see if LT makes sense, then just add longer brake lines. Check with Crikey Mike or Google...

So... my suggestion is to speak with Crikey Mike (see above, some one posted his contact info.) I used the heavy spring because I do sometimes have the winch up front and plan on a steel bumper at some point. Rides fine (if a bit stiff) empty. Don't know anything about pockets... the shock set the ride height. Again I went with three inches (which is kinda the max for the second gen.) I would be careful with anything over 3" of lift and those sound suspiciously like spacers which on the forums is, like, really really bad... ( ran a 3/4" spacer for several years before committing to Dobisons... worked great and never had a problem, but I just, clearly, wasn't very cool... I will say that the guys on here let me stay, so they are a good bunch (not at all like those hyenas in the Colorado page :crapstorm:.))

Out back I had Alcan make custom leaf packs that were 1200 pounds over factory (I run around with about 6000k most of the time and tow with the truck.) These added about 2" of height and way more in extension (don't remember the number.) got me into the range for long travel. Have not had any issues wanting MORE in back even with the trailer on. Truck sits flat, tows fantastic and has lots of articulation!

    Hope this helps

I should also add that I installed hammer hangers out back and Archive Garage bumps. Even loaded and towing I don't hit on the road. Used to be a constant contact game with the stock springs.

Yeah I’m riding on OME medium duty springs in the rear and have great success if anything I’ll add a leaf in the future or do the shackle flip kit from 4xInovations.
