As a former 2nd gen owner, no offense taken. I still think the 2nd gen was the best looking.

The 4th gen looks kick-ass to me. More usable power, front sway bar disconnect. What's not to like?

That was my initial 4th gen reaction. I haven't really looked at them because I know I won't be buying one. lol

2nd gens? I didn't like the paint matched asymmetrical fender flares.
I'm a Libra damnit. There must be balance. :D

    Like @WiscoPat said. Personal preference.

I really like the looks of the 2nd gen the best.

    (because I can’t afford the 4th gen!)

What has aged better... I personally found the first gens to be absurd, and went with a 4 door Dakota. !st gen has aged MUCH better. However, let it be known, here and now: 2nd Gen Best Gen... For the price on those 4th Gens I could pick up a clean 2nd Gen and Mod it to the moon...

Hey wait a minute... thats what I'm doing! Hah!

I'll hopefully be in the market for a commuter vehicle next year. I'm thinking the Tacoma Hybrid or maybe a Ford Maverick :anonymous:

I'd say purely for a commuter if you're buying new I'd take the risk and get the maverick because the gas mileage would be significantly better

Yeah that's been known for the better part of a year now. Frankly, AC TRD OR was already pretty damn rare. Unfortunately.... That's the truck I wanted initially.

    Talk to Ford techs first.

Curious how long is your commute? With all that free sunshine on tap, if it's not too far I'd look at EVs. Heck, I'd have one up here if it wasn't gray skies for 6 months a year.

All of these have the iforce engines. The iforce Max, which is what you're looking for is the hybrid. It won't be available until April or May.

Typically 30 mile commute one way. But there are times I have to go to job sites that could be 2+ hours away.
