I did mention more good than bad about the cover and all focus gets put on the bad. lol
I get paid to notice the bad. It's a curse.

    edit: Wasn't even 'bad'.
More like a professional courtesy and inquiry to photo choice.

I'm sure @Pixeltim appreciates your observations, being in the same industry.

It would definitely be weird if we were actually distributing a Wisconsin Tacomas calendar with a bunch of 4Runners on the cover, but I think Tim's reply explained it pretty well. I've thought about trying to change it to "Wisconsin Toyotas" but it doesn't sound as good.

Selling a Tacoma calendar with 4 runners on the cover could get people to buy it out if curiosity, so they can open it up and see if the Tacoma's are inside.

    The temptation is very strong!

Oh the things I've seen people do in my 45 years of prepress!

Well, truth be told, I think almost everyone in the cover picture has had at least one Tacoma, so that counts in my eyes!
As for the old 2 font rule, the Wisconsin Tacomas has kinda been our logotype, and those don't really count when using the font family rule!

    :duh:

    Cheers!

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
When I was in pre-press (half a lifetime ago), we had an account for several years (before they took the work to China) that did nothing but calendars, I think somewhere over 300 titles. Oh dear God, the fonts! Some titles were a design clusterf@ck! That said, most worked with the subject matter (which could be a hot mess). I'll agree with you that a "trademark"/logo font is (could be) exempt.

    Adam
    Cisco
    Dan
    Dean
    James
    Jason
    Pat E
    Pat P
    Rich
    Tim

Anyone else up for a calendar?

I thought the same thing but then the more I looked at it the more I kept finding Tacomas. It was like a big game of iSpy
