I'll speak for the high end Samsung Galaxy tablets. Had all the models since the S2 (released in 2015). They all still work great and hold a charge. I need to upgrade to the S9....

I've had a LOT of Google Pixel products and loved every one of them. I currently have a Pixelbook Go as my go-to couch browsing (and TW posting) daily driver and it's definitely one of the top laptop devices I've ever owned. If you're already an Android guy and want to stick to that universe, look at quality Android devices. I've convinced my wife we should get a new Pixel Tablet but we're holding off until some expensive renovation work is done on the house.

TL;DR... The iPad is an Apple flagship device. The Pixel line and Samsung Galaxy devices are flagship Android devices. That comparison is much more apples to apples in terms of quality and device support than getting some cheap knockoff Android tablet. If you already have a Tacoma (Android phone) and want another Toyota (Android tablet), get a 4Runner, not a Colorado (Etch-a-Sketch).

I'm a solid 90% today, thanks for asking!

Recovered quite well and came back to the office yesterday. I get a little tired but I take a walk and have another coffee and I can function.

Yours is definitely more spread out than mine. I just go to the same places over and over again.

As someone who works on these things day to day for the past 20 years, I don’t care what anyone’s preference is and if it works for you then great. I look at them as tools and if they serve the purpose that’s all that matters. Apple generally has more polished hardware though lags behind in specs. Android is fragmented by vendor and often comes with bloatware but often is on the cutting edge for hardware like cameras to differentiate itself from the sea of other android clones. Apple has the software advantage in my opinion for being a consistent albeit locked ecosystem but that makes it ultra stable. I enjoy not fixing or tinkering with my iPhone and iPad because the last thing I want to do after work is fix more things. My company is somewhere in the Fortune 100 and they agree so I’d imagine bean counters have done studies on ROI and came to the same conclusion for reliability. Or security. Or the consistent OS.

I forgot about the Pixel tablets. Personally I’d only choose a Galaxy or Pixel unless you want it to be disposable in a year or two. The rest are toys not tools.

PS glad you’re feeling better Dean!

I agree with (almost) everything you stated Adam. Use what works best for you. The Pixel line of Google products comes with zero bloatware or skins and that's a big reason why I set up my mom and others who are less tech savvy in the family with Pixel phones. I know exactly what they're dealing with when they call me for help.

The only comment I'm befuzzled on is the line about Galaxy and Pixel devices being disposable in a year or two. I've had my Pixelbook Go since July of 2020 and it's actually faster and better than when I got it due to software updates. I see myself using it for several years to come. Battery life is still fantastic. I get a new Pixel phone every 2 years, but my old one then goes to my kid, so we get at least 4 years out of them.

Edit... My bad. You said "unless" not "if". :bananadead:

I've always been android and samsung. If ever I got a tablet it'd be what I'm use to.
The wife is all Apple this, apple that.
    phone, tablet, laptop, watch.
Back when, Macs were always better for graphics but idk if that matters these days. Pretty much everything has good graphics.

Honestly, I'm mostly interested in exploring every inch of Wisconsin than I am in some other parts of the country. I've started exploring a little more in Florida on my visits and that has been a lot of fun as well!

I do want to take a few trips out west. And, I've been east a little bit, but that was pre-Google.

Hopefully the pixel tablets are better than the pixel phones. The pixel six and pixel seven were two of the worst phones I have ever owned.

I know you've had struggles with yours, but my Pixel 5 was solid (daughter still using it) and my only complaint about my Pixel 7 Pro is that it's a little too big for my taste. Otherwise it's been fantastic.
