I have generally heard good things about them. I thought maybe I was crazy, but I Googled it (how ironic) and found plenty of people who had the same experience as me. OTOH, Maybe it is like a KO2 situation, where most people love them, and a few people despise them.:notsure:

Were your Pixels unlocked? It seems unlocked phones have less issues than phones locked to a carrier

I have no idea. They were both through AT&T, though.

I've had phones that were fantastic, and others that were OK, and 3 that were problematic. 2 of those 3 were Google phones, which seems ridiculous.

Your wife is very smart, you should listen to her!

    :boink::boink::boink:

I happen to have all of the above, and also airpods pro (noise cancellation is fantastic) and apple tv too.
What I like best is how every bit of it works together seamlessly.
I got a new iPhone 15 a week or so ago, the migration was completely automatic and works perfectly. Idk, I value that.
Oh, and the resale on the used market is amazing. I traded my 8 year old Macbook pro for a new model a year or so ago and they gave me $600 for the old one. My new iPhone was a free upgrade. I really don't know how they were able to do that, but my old phone was paid off, so all I was paying was the $40/month for the cell service and now I have a new phone and my bill is actually slightly lower.

Thanks for all of the responses. I guess I need to just sit down and do a bit of research on what will fill my needs.

As usual, this group comes through!

First ever wheeling trip I rode shotgun in a trail limo that used an iPad for maps. Hugely easier to see esp at night while driving sideways on a foggy mountain

    You rang?

    Agreed the progress has tremendous!

FWIW, I the galaxy tab has GPS. The tricky part now is finding a nice way to mount it.

I'm looking at a RAM mount that bolts to the seat mounts. It looks like it shouldn't be too intrusive for a passenger.

I’ll be watching to see how that works for you! I have a Ram mount for my iPhone and love it. It’d be great to also have one for the iPad.

I keep forgetting to post this...I keep seeing these at one of my pick-ups:

Toyota fan shrouds. I haven't found anything but a part number to identify which model they go to ... and too lazy (don't give a sh#t) to look it up.

The new m series Apple laptops are hard to beat. They are ridiculously powerful and the battery lasts forever.

im with @wi_taco there was a time where I liked to tinker and customize.. but now I just want my stuff to work.

we also have a fairly decent Apple deployment in the enterprise. So much more consistency and far fewer dumb problem.

I’ve sold so many people on the AirPods Pro’s.

part of why the value stays high is because Apple wants them back to either refurbish or recycle for materials. I just checked the other day and my iPad is still trading in for $550. I’ve traded in quite a few devices over the years.

As far as the Apple VS Android conversation...

    I've been Android all along.

But, so was my brother, and then he switched to an IPhone at some point and hasn't looked back.

I've stuck with Android due to my stubbornness. I've had some devices I've loved and some I've hated. This Galaxy is my hail Mary at sticking with Android. I've pretty much decided that I'm switching to Apple the next time Android lets me down.

So far, I'm pretty happy with the Galaxy. We'll see...
