Lightening the wallet makes for a more comfortable seat and lighter truck!

Edit: The financial influence of this group has already hit home. lol
More on recovery and safety side so it's worth it.

    I appreciate fine art.

Yours looks great too. They really do hold up well if properly cared for. Ours had not a spot of rust anywhere on the body, frame was solid too. Ask me about the rust on my 1979 Toyota Sport Truck. :D

Was yours brought in for the frame recall?
I can't remember what year I brought it in. New frame came with new fuel lines, brake lines, leaf springs..
Dealer said it took 4 guys 60 hours to complete. Cost Toyota $13k on a truck that wasn't worth 10k.
    Drove like new again.

Did not need a frame replacement, the guy at East Madison Toyota could not believe how well the underside of our truck looked. A good friend had the frame replaced, his Taco was in rough & beat condition. Dealer only paid for the frame replacement, they billed my friend for all other costs like new fuel & brake lines, leaf springs etc.

The frame program on first gens was.... Interesting. Buyouts for pre 2000 models, replacements on 01-04, except in "winter states" they had some leeway with replacing/buying out if "everything else" looked good

At the time I was hoping to get dollars off a new one.

My only extra charge was the emotional damage from having to drive a Prius around for a week.

You need to sign out of iCloud and disable find my. If you don’t or can’t do that, they will be activation locked and they won’t accept them as a trade in.

That's what you get for taking Apple garbage...locked out with no way in...that is unless it's the FBI, then Apple will bend over backwards opening it up for you.:rolleyes:

Looking very nice Pat! I also appreciate how you have the most important persuasion tools prioritized up front: hammer, bigger hammer, biggest hammer, then saw, and then fire extinguisher for the aftermath.

PS - Not sure if I'm going to make it on the 30th now, found out yesterday one of my U joints and the carrier bearing finally gave up the ghost. Parts are ordered but it's going to be a race to the finish line on that project.

Unfortunately this is the answer. They aren't worth much of anything unless they are unlocked and un-tethered from iCloud. Could try selling as parts only on eBay but older models don't really pay much of anything.

This actually made me laugh, nicely put - need to add a grinder and torch in there too, obviously.

    Good luck on the parts!

I was admiring the tools of mass destruction, this morning. lol

Hey. You might never need an extinguisher but when you do you'll be glad it's there.
Old extinguisher from 1977 (last charged in 1986), that was in my garage when I bought it, saved my arse once, well, my snowblowers.
    Glad it still worked.
Now I keep several around. Inside and out.

If I recall right, they have continually made changes so as to make it so there is no way they could have the ability to open up a locked device. FBI demanded they unlock a device a couple years ago and Apple refused.
