    Happy New Year everyone.

I didn’t plan on staying up last, but I couldn't sleep.
I never have celebrated New Years. The only thing special is getting out a new calendar. Same problems and bills that I had on December 31st, I have on January 1st.
2024 has already started out like crap. I guess the money I save for the next 3 months not driving can be utilized for mods.

Ahh, I figured it might be a nickname. Primus did a song called Kalamazoo.

At least the Lions didn't waste the career of a HOF QB. :notsure:

I know it's probably annoying to hear Packer fans complain, but it was frustrating to watch.

    This is a good attitude!

But, I get what you're saying.

I think it's just a good time to look back at the past year and set some goals for the coming year. I know that I need to do better on some things this year.

    Yes, Happy New Year.
I remember (barely) a 3 night Yonder Mountain String Band run at the Fillmore for New years, out in Denver.

Now I can barely stay awake to hang with Ryan Seacrest and the gang for the East Coast ball drop.
Haven't made a CST new year in awhile.

Except we were talking about doing it on a Tacoma. Not a 4Runner. But if you're going to spend 50 grand on a 4Runner, you may as well get to use the actual suspension in it, plus that clown spend all that money on total cash lowers and still uses spacer lifts up top. Extended angle CVs are not expensive compared to regular ones, and good suspension is well worth its weight in gold, especially when you're talking about hard wheeling like this guy's doing.

    3. In is about the max you should do on a 4Runner. Anyway. Did he get the panhard bracket re-welded in the rear to correct that angle?

This video right here. So many people tell me I'm an idiot for talking about sway bars and then I show them this video and they're like. Oh... That makes sense. Lol

By so many people I mean usually people at work, not people on TW :D

    Anyone still running stock 265/70/16?
Here's that barely used spare I won't be needing anymore.
Any good suggestions where to tuck the spare tire chain out of the way?

Agreed about the maximum lift height. But, there are aftermarket parts that correct the suspension without having to butcher your chassis.

Sorta what I was thinking but I'm still suspension green.

I doubt it. He also blows through lbj's like it's chewing gum. He was looking at a balljoint spacer.

    Happy new year everyone!!

She'll make you some if you come visit.

If you don't plan on using the tire hoist, 4 bolts and it's removed. Then the dangle doesn't dingle.

Without knowing the full extent of his suspension setup, it's hard to make a call here. But if he's blowing through lower ball joints, there's definitely something going on. Maybe at 3 inches He might consider getting actual lower control arms?

In my book and it's just that... My book, 3 in on a 4runner is overkill. Since you can't fit bigger tires without cutting anyway, and there's a lot of good suspension videos out there showing just how well the forerunner does articulate in factory form, I would say keep the lift under 2 in, but to each their own. I've got two different customers who don't know each other who have nearly identical 3-in lifted 4runners and a lot of the problems I chase with them are the fact that they don't want to listen. Lol like getting factory correction parts for the rear link suspension.

Yeah but getting to the bolts is annoying. I just wrapped my chain around it and then zip tied it so it wouldn't go anywhere. Lol

    Certainly not a convenient reach.
The ratcheting box ends and the lift made it not so bad....the lift, because with the spare gone I can sit up underneath and not hit my head on the underside of the bed. lol

Relentless Fab hybrid bumper, 2.5” Dobinsons IMS lift, RCI skids and sliders, block heater. Painted FJ Steelies. Was trying to keep it stock, now slowly building for the Wisconsin trails.
Anything over 2"-2.5" of lift and I would start watching the CV boots for wear. That kind of angle the ribs rub against each other especially at the wheels.
Makes a hell of a mess when the boots go.

Added 300#'s in sand but probably removed 100#'s with swaybar and old spare. (other spare is in the bed)
Ran over some more familiar roads and I'm liking the more freefloat feel of no bar. Feels more one with the road.

I don’t know what your Wisconsin city streets are like but ours look like powdered sugar, already.
City crew spends all winter salting and tearing up concrete that all their summer is spent trying to patch those holes....All road is offroad in Wisco. :D
