    Did you drive it?

I'm curious what other people think about the turbo 4. Apparently it's not fast enough for some people. I didn't even know it was being marketed as a sport truck.

Finally going through my photos. Ultimately I will put them up on a Google drive and share the link but here are a few.

Before the mother in law came over, I turned the lights and radio on in the garage, opened a few toolbox drawers then grabbed a pliers and started bending on a pc of scrap wire to make it look like I was doing something out here. :notsure:

I'll personally never understand why speed is such a factor for some, when it comes to pick up trucks. I care about the utility and durability, not the 0 to 60 time. To each their own, I suppose.

    Oh, and happy Easter all!

@pearing just read through your updates, thanks for posting them!

Glad you all had a fantastic time. Looking forward to stories and opportunities for...uh, "investing" into the damaged trucks.

The comments seem to be all over the place. I thought it felt great, personally. But, I was focused on torque and midrange power. I think that towing is where the extra power will be more noticeable.

Based on a lot of the comments that keep popping up on the 4Runner forum about turbo engines in general, a lot of people don't seem to understand that these new turbo setups are designed to improve low end torque, not top end power.

Either way, I guess I'm going to have to drive another one to get a better feel for it. For science.

I mean… it’s a truck! If you want speed, there are many far better options.

Doubtful. But, knowing me, I wouldn't say it's not possible. :anonymous:

Question for everyone who is running a fridge:

Are you using a second battery specifically for the fridge and other things you don't want draining the starter battery?

If so, do you have a way to charge it off the vehicle while it's running?

I'm planning on getting a charger I can plug in when 120V power is available. And, I'll be using a solar panel as well. But, I wouldn't mind having it charge while I'm driving, also.

The fridge is likely to be the only thing running on the battery most of the time. I might use it for an electric blanket, or other miscellaneous things occasionally.

    Am I over-thinking this?

I've done a few 3-5 day trips now with my 12v fridge and always just leave it running non stop in the truck bed plugged to the main battery.
The fridge I have has auto shut off so it will never kill the battery, but I still carry a jump pack just in case.

I drive the truck everyday during the trip so the fridge never runs more than 12 hours without the truck being run as well

I think many who care about 0-60 are someone like me, who are in a similar situation as me. I have the need for speed and would love a sports car for going fast and turning hard, but due to necessity/practicality can only have one vehicle so even though I make the smart choice of having a truck, said truck having sporty characteristics would be great.

Never. Ford is the leader in recalls and has horrendous reliability. I would need a second vehicle to drive when it was in the shop

I'm so very glad to hear that! I've only owned one ford in my life, a 67 Mustang, it was a great car, but those were different days.
