For the record, I still can't find a center bearing for my old driveshaft...except for a couple of places that have an "economy" version, which honestly makes me uneasy. I feel more comfortable with an unknown mileage used driveshaft than spending the money and time on new u-joints and then use a center bearing that lists for half (or less) that any of the other aftermarket replacements I've found. My fear is that the "economy" bearing will fail in 25-50k miles. I think I'd even consider taking my chances in keeping the current one on there, rather than using one of these "economy" bearings.

Oh there will be some mods all right
Not sure how much has changed from second gens to third gens as far as the drive shaft goes, but I remember there was a center carrier bearing for a Ford ranger that with some slight finagling would work well as a replacement.

The 3rd gen has a carrier bearing that's ID is 32mm, vs 30 for the 2nd. The mounting holes on the 3rd gen are 6.89" apart, more than an inch wider than the 2nd. Both use the same u-joints, the 3rd gens are just non-greasable.

Strange because I just greased my u-joints.
On my 1st gen I replaced the cb with a scamazon special.

Was truly hoping my greasable zerks were my ticket in.
3rd brake light is 2nd gen as well, no?

    Getting closer....
Edit: what other leftover 2nd gen parts pieced my 2.5gen together?
