    Here we go again. :D
    Lol.
I have nothing against Milwaukee but I'm stuck with Makita batteries.
    I see Makita makes an 18v 120psi($110) and a 160psi($160).
    What psi is the Milwaukee?
    Update: 150psi

Oh there will be some mods all right
I can't speak for any other brand but the Milwaukee M18 inflator has cooling fans that kick on immediately upon starting that give it a healthy duty cycle. There's a YouTube video of a guy testing it with a 5.0 battery on all his junk cars with flat tires. It just kept going and going. I keep a vlair in the truck for emergencies but if I know for sure I'll be airing back up the M18 is king. Avoiding the long hose and wires is great and so is setting and forgetting instead of watching the gauge to get to the correct psi.

I have a Husky saw also.
    Never a problem starting.
As for the chain. I perfer a new chain. I will resharpen an old one. Lots of YouTube videos out there about how to sharpen a chain. I found 1 that works good for me using just a round file, no fancy jigs.
Video was a guy from Canada who does small engine repair while drinking beer.

Maybe @pearing forgot I'm running 32's BABY! :pout:
Are the power chords on the vlair capable of being rewired with a plug?
    Like, opened up and rewired.
Not just cutting and splicing an end on.
Sometimes things that have battery or cigarette lighter terminals can be opened up and the power chord is attached with a couple screw posts, instead of being soldered in.

Not sure I understand the question but here is an image of the unit. The whole back of the compressor can come off and that is where the wire goes in.

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
I found the lighter plug got really hot with my compressor, not nearly as hot with the clips. YMMV.

It all depends on your build goals and personal preferences, but pretty soon I intend to go with an "on-board air" setup with the compressor mounted under the hood permanently. I currently have the tiny Viair 88P and it works for 32's just fine only taking 2-3 minutes per tire. But the negative side is that when I'm done I have to store it somewhere, and before I can put it away it has to cool down because airing up all four tires makes it HOT.

The biggest reason I'm going under the hood is to get it out of my way, and to get moving faster after airing up. If all you do is weekend trips to Tigerton this is probably overkill. But if you go on longer road trips (or if I might dare to use some Bro-verlanding lingo, "expeditions"), every inch of space for storing gear matters. If I have to pack a compressor in the cab or bed, that's limiting other fun stuff I can bring too. Probably takes up the volume of like 8 beers and I'd rather take 8 more beers if we're being honest.

Answer is yes you can change it from alligator clamps to whatever you want. It's just 12V DC. Ring terminals, Anderson plugs, whatever as long as it meets the current rating. As Rich said the cig lighter plug gets hot because many of these compressors can draw a healthy amount of amperage. Viairs typically are 20-30A and cig plus are usually fused at 15A so that's a fire waiting to happen. Dual ARB compressors draw up to 100A spiking on in-rush and nominally run 60-80A. Size wires and attachments appropriately and fuse appropriately and you can get what you want from it.

Ya. That's what I was wondering.
To be able to wire direct, a 3 prong plug, to use in the bed outlet.

Splicing a 3 prong onto a cut wire is even too ghetto for me.

Are you thinking about adding a heavy duty plug? Like what you'd have on a trolling motor?

Otherwise, I don't think I'd plug it into the cigarette lighter. According to Viair, it draws 30 amps, which seems high for that type of plug.

If you are splicing to a 3 prong grounded AC outlet plug that is a BAD idea. Compressors like this run on DC, the outlet in the bed is AC via the inverter. No bueno.

The bed plug is 120VAC, though. These clip onto the battery with alligator clips.

You could definitely rig up a proper heavy duty 12VDC plug as Adam and I mentioned above.

One of these days, I should just get off my ass and wire in a permanent Anderson plug under-hood, I have extras. That would handle current even better than the alligator clips.

This conversation has me considering the same. I never like using alligator clips for anything that draws much current.

This is all me just being me.
All my crap is in the back.
The outlet is in the back.
Compressor will be in the back.

I don't want to have to go unpacking a compresser, carry it alllll the way to the front, pop the hood, hook it up....you get the drift.
