Hitch receiver is in the bumper, behind the license plate which is on a bracket with a hinge. That's really where you gain a better descent angle and what helps to make it a high clearance bumper. My current low hanging hitch receiver has taken a beating.

When I smashed the rear against that rock in Arkansas @pearing said "that truck is just too long for that spot," and I agreed. The long boi will definitely be more nimble with the high clearance rear end.

Don't get me wrong...I'd love to have the SDHQ terminals as they do look like they would be great to work with. I just couldn't justify the $. What I wound up using are a really good compromise.

One note on those: don't over-tighten, they will break. :anonymous:

The drain holes in the cubby were mentioned not long ago.

Where I drilled the hole for the cable I'm going to use some of this duct sealing compound. The hvac guys used it on my central air.
    Keeps out dust and moisture.
The compound is like a putty with an oily feel. I don't think it ever dries out.

Looks really nice, Dean! Did you buy spray bombs or a gallon? I was looking through my Amazon orders to find something else and I see that I've gone through 3 cans already. Most of one was used for touch-ups, though...rocks don't give a shit what you use!

Yeah, I had to go back in my emails and look. $75 in 2021. So they doubled in price since. Dang?!

Even at the current price I'd buy them again. Some things are worth it I feel.

Yeah but that’s only rated to -20. What are you gonna do when winter comes in Wisconsin lol

    Beats me. lol
It was used on the exterior of my home where the a/c line runs into the house.
    Still holding.
    For $2 it's worth a shot.

Edit: Maybe I'll spray the outside of the cubby with Great STUFF. :D

I got spray cans. Started with 2, but the application instructions say 4 coats, 6 for heavy duty use, so I got one more. There are quite a few pieces to cover. At almost $40 a can I'm thinking maybe I should have just paid a pro to powder coat it, but hopefully the Steel-It will hold up well and be easy to touch up.

Shouldn't it be so tough it never needs touch up?

When you drag it on a rock doesn't matter what coating or how thick it is. It's coming off.
