Anyone have a recommendation for lift installers around the Madison area? I got a quote from J&L in Madison and they quoted me $827 for install which seems crazy. Thanks in advance!

That's what I'm here for, the mods and the gear.
It was good meeting you all. Was a nice day and got some sun. My checking account whimpered every time mods came up. LoL

I've been dealing with Performance off-road in Sussex, but that's an hour from Madison.

I did my own lift (actually mostly watched my friends do it), so I don't know how their labor rates are.

I believe @BEAR_KNIFE_FIGHT has worked with a shop in Baraboo.

Nice to meet you Brian. You drove all the way from Greenbay to hang in the parking lot for a few hours. We did luck out with 70° weather and sunshine! I’m sure we will run into each other again soon. I guess you need to scope out the trails near you and post em up.

Where's the beer garden in it?

Also lift or blocks? I did my blocks on the apparatus floor at EMS.

And it's rite inside the south entrance, if you came in from the south last time when you met with James and I, you drove rite past it.
If you came in the other way, keep going to the end almost, if you hit a stop sign, turn around you missed it.

Hey guys...Not to derail your bbq/beer talk, but wondering if anyone is going to the Chequamegon MTB festival this year (or has gone)? I have yet to visit WI and I thought this would be a good opportunity to spend a little time in your state.
I've looked at the average temperatures on the usual sites, but want your opinion; Hows camping up there in mid/late September? Decent or not good odds for reasonable weather. I'm good until it's in the mid 30s at night. Then I'd rather just grab a cabin or hotel. I'm getting too old to be uncomfortable lol. Any restaurants, shops or generally cool places to hit in that area?
I'd be coming in from PA/IN/IL, then out through MN/IA. And any other highly recommended stops to make along the way would be cool. As always, Any info is appreciated!

Is it even going on this year? I haven't heard any updates.

Looks to like they haven't canceled or pushed it to next year yet.

Well in the case it's not canceled, I would lock down lodging ASAP. It's a massively busy weekend for Hayward and Cable and surrounding area. There's plenty of resorts in the area, camping etc. I haven't been to the event since Lifetime took over so can't comment on what it's like anymore. The main event is a mountain bike race primarily on gravel roads and grassy ski trails. I wouldn't go for the event, I'd pick another weekend and just ride the awesome single-track in the area. The race is cool just to say you did it, but that's about it. But that's just my opinion.

Yea I emailed them about it and as of right now, they're anticipating it to happen.

I was thinking about camping at the ROAM basecamp site. The timing works out for me to pass through during that time. I have a race in PA on the 12th, then continuing west. I hear you on riding places when an event isnt taking place though. Would be able to ride for a couple days on both ends of the event at least.
