If you're a racer you may enjoy it, it has lots of history to it and the mass start is something to behold. Just be ready to downshift when you exit the pavement at Rosie's Field. ROAM Basecamp would be a good choice but get locked in soon and make sure it's refundable. Hayward is a cool town, historic logging town that turned into a Northwoods fishing/tourist town.

Cool, thanks. Singlespeed makes shifting easy....Can't do it! lol
And yea, ROAM offers full refund w/in 14 days of the reservation according to their site.

On the way in, Madison or Milwaukee a better place to stop to spend a night and load up before getting up there?

Singlespeeder. Figures. Lol. That'll make the road leadout extra fun for you.

I would blow through Milwaukee and stay closer to Madison. That'll make the drive to Cable a little easier, it's a haul to get there. But it's a pretty drive north of Madison

The weather that time of year is usually nice. It can be a great time of year to camp, as it's usually pretty comfortable during the day and cool at night.

I would recommend getting some friends together, meeting at whomever has the most tools and some good working space, and knocking out yourself. It's rewarding and you gain some good knowledge.

I did my front suspension on my own! It was PITA, but well worth it.

I’ll be at the beer garden. I think my wife is showing up also . Now I can spend my money on beer and she can buy me dinner from Rolling smoke bbq . Is it 5:00pm yet? I’m thirsty!

Yeah. I just left work 5 minutes ago. Apparently Illinois is back to work. Seems like they can’t read
    speed limit signs

    On my way!

I hope the garden was good. I had other things going on last night, but the park is very nice from my visit last weekend. I imagine it was great fun.

This might become a regular thing. It's a hike from G-town, but I was thinking about maybe trying to rotate locations so people from further north and west could join.
