Oh, forgot to mention... I sold my Lomax hard tonneau cover yesterday too! Wish I could say that's more $$$ for something new, but it was to pay for the Softopper. I guess the good news is that I'm back to a $0 balance in the truck mod funds bucket.

I use to think retiring and driving a zamboni or a floor cleaner at
Wal-Mart would be good supplemental income.

After seeing this, though....a guy can't really complain about that job.

I enjoy watching the (truck related :D) thoughts on this thread become reality.
    Nice work!

If you're at $0 balance, you're doing it wrong. That's a responsible number and will not be tolerated. Start shopping!!

    Oh, I'm working on it!

Anybody here familiar with this remote starter solution?
    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B082ZSP9LD/?coliid=I1F9BYE9O7N8ZQ&colid=16T21X7C6WUV5

Seems like a good deal. I've checked reviews and they're very positive. First found it from Team Oil Drop on YouTube. Here's a quick video from him: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6fpYGhGbUUU
BTW, he's got some pretty good and honest videos on mods and maintenance for any DIY Tacoma guys.

Wife has already approved the purchase and I'll likely pull the trigger very soon, but wanted to see if any of yous guys had an aftermarket remote start thingy installed, and what your experiences were.

Alright boys, tech issue I'm hoping for guidance or thoughts on.

Years ago, I converted my headlights in the Tacoma to HID (or rather, purchased them). The housings are OEM with a Morimoto HID retrofit kit, using Lexus HIDs.

Today, my headlights won't turn on. I checked my fuses, wires, and connections - all good. When I turn my lights on, I can hear the ballast clicking, but no activation of the lights.

The HIDs themselves are about 5 years old, so could it just be that they're done for and need to be replaced? My DRLs, turn signals, and high beams all activate just fine (high beams and turn signals are original).

I haven't but that's a good thought! No change when restarting the vehicle so a hard reset might work...or it could fix itself overnight, right?
