People shit on the 3.5 (myself included) but the big issue is the factory tune and the drive ratios in the AT.

I actually don’t miss the 4.0 these days and I’m getting 20+ mpg.

The 4.0 in the Tacos was single VVTI. 4runner is dual VVTI. Would run circles around my 2015 Taco even hauling 500 extra pounds.

4.0 is a locked ECU I believe. Wouldn't be able to do too much with it. Unless the 4runner ECU is drastically different than the Taco

No sir. Other than not getting OVT sooner

there’s like 100 diff ecus for the 4.0. HP tuners can do them now I believe (at least the Tacoma’s). I don’t think anyone is really doing anything unless they are supercharged

    Glad to help

This would definitely be fun, if I came across an extra $8K or so

I wonder if they’ve gotten the Tacoma on the dyno yet. There was all kinds of showing off the kit then after install it’s been crickets.

You mean the prototype kit? I'm under the impression that it's not out for public sale just yet. They do have numbers on their site, but I don't know if those are estimations or from the dyno.

They’ve got it installed on 2 trucks in the last week or two. They are supposedly for sale now but there hasn’t been any feedback / impressions / etc of the ones that got installed.

Does anyone have any suggestions on camping locations near DeSoto? Looking to take my brother north to south on the small section TWAT this upcoming weekend.
