I can't imagine the UCA affecting ride height. Did you drive it after the install before remeasuring?

    Me either but it did.
Made me think the stock uca's are pulling down harder so the ball joint can reach the spindle....also straightens the spindle by moving it out.

    Same suspension. Different uca's.
Can see how much of the bump is touching, too.

The shop putting my new tires on has now multiple times confirmed the tire size i ordered was right..

When i called parts and mentioned if needed a heat gun will be used. They didnt call me back and went straight to our advisor o_O

When i talked to our "advisor" same one who we have worked with since 2000 on my moms old car.. he wanted to make sure right tires got ordered. Actually got a better deal than discount tires and other online places including with my ems discount.

All the mechanics when i was talking about it.. they were like youre going to have a squishy ride. I was like the only other vehicles i usually ride or drive in are ambulances and fire trucks so im not worried..

When i came in today they were like you sure? (They already have the tires in the shop)..

Then a firefighter Ive worked with whos a tech came to just verify that the other tech is correct with the size. Because its different than my current ones.. that were already different than oem. But he already knew we were going up :D

Ps. It happens to be a dealership who I got to mount and balance the tires.. :fistbump: :bananadance: tigerton here we go!

Oh there will be some mods all right
Tire shops are so funny. Some are so strict and terrified of up-sizing even an inch and some will toss on literally anything you ask them to even if you will barely be able to steer leaving the parking lot lol

this is probably like the last time and he hasn't driven it around the block yet for the suspension to settle

If your spindle is parallel to the shock you have some serious problems!!!

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
Decided today was the day to re-PlastiDip my grille. It was getting thin in spots and chipped through to the black chrome underneath in others. Tried to use a wire brush to remove the loose bits aaannnnnnnndddd that just made things worse. Pulled out the grinder with a wire wheel...that cleared a whole lot of it off, but left it's own problems. What ended up working the best was a rag doused in Xylene. Melted the old PlastiDip right off. I should've sanded the couple of problems I created with the wire wheel, but I got lazy, thinking the PlastiDip would smooth it out...kinda, but not quite. Oh well, looks good (much better) from 5' away.

That Dawn powerwash spray cleaned my cuticles up pretty good. Don't think that I would not have soaked them in a monster drink if that didn't work

PXL_20250530_004517044.jpg I've been driving to fast to hear any bolts coming loose. As long as they don't puncture my tires.

Also, started my Colorado trip today. I had planned at camping at an Army Corps of Engineers site but they're currently working on it. So, I'm now boondocking at a casino parking lot. Not a bad back up. Checked with security and staff to make sure it was okay. Already gambled; won $80, lost $90...I'm done. But I got the free drinks! They didn't compare to James' old fashions tho.
