I'm so accustomed to people interchanging the word spindle and steering knuckle that it never really clicked.

Uhh, I know what parallel means.

Seeing as you don't follow directions & don't read things properly.

Explain to me how the spindle is parallel to the shock!!

They wouldn't be, if you're taking the term literally.

Don't follow directions or read things properly? Nice jab. Are you drinking over there?

Looks like some of us are getting a little weather right now. Storms due to hit over here in about 45 minutes. I guess I better hurry up and get the grill going

    Haha!

Well, I have an extra Chevy right now. My Dad's old Silverado. We're most likely donating it to rawhide, unless somebody needs a farm truck.:D

I’ve been looking for a car for my daughter for a while and last week I finally found a decent 2010 Highlander that fit the bill. Well maintained etc, but due for some tires and brakes. Spent the week going over it/inspecting, admiring the three piece driveshaft (yikes!!!), treating the subframe corrosion, changing out pads, rotors, and putting new slide pins in the calipers. Im the middle of all this I had to take care of the rear pads on my 4runner, which I discovered at mod day were already worn down at 30k miles (don’t buy the cheaper toyota OE replacement pads). Today, I was beat, so I took it easy and went to look for tires. Ended up buying them at costco.

Anyway, the car was making a sound that could have been tires, or bad wheel bearings, or bad carrier bearings on any one of the multitude of driveshafts this thing has lol. I was a bit worried that maybe I bought the wrong car. Glad to say , the new tires made my worries go away. Nice and quiet.

That sense of relief finally allowed me to turn my attention to the aftermarket floating head unit the PO installed. What a monstrosity, and what I heard through it up to today sounded like total garbage. I’m glad he kept and gave me the original head unit to change out if I wanted.

Here’s the funny thing. What started out as a “quality assurance” drive on the new tires turned into me just finally relaxing a bit and enjoying the ride. Then I started to mess around with the radio a bit. That turned into me finding the EQ…. IMG_6518.jpg Oh…my…lord… 3 hours later and I was still driving around. I tried to find all my old “sound check” music to dial it all in. Wow! That was the nicest music-enhanced drive I’ve had in while!

The PO didn’t tell me anything about installing new speakers. If he didn’t, then I’m double blown away. The last “fancy” head unit I bought I got rid of because the signal sucked…way worse than what the factory HU put out. This one was intense! It almost makes me want to start looking for something for the 4runner! Come Sunday, this Highlander will be going to it’s new owner, so I won’t have much more time to enjoy it. (However, It will be delivered with one set of very specific instructions:

I still think the floating form factor is dumb though lol.
