What I really am looking at is knuckle/spindle gussets. Why are ready made ones in the 2k range??? The kit looks like it’s around $75. Knuckle/spindles at full retail are $450 ea. proud of that weld job they are. Yes I am lazy and just want to bolt something on.,. But looks like I am going to have to suck it up and do it myself

I am just the garden variety idiot, but unless you are looking to add some go-fast to your life, I am curious what more HP would do for you that a double-transfer case wouldn't do better. Most of the stuff you seem to do is slower-speed, so I would think torque would be more beneficial than HP. Are you manual or auto? I could certainly see the benefit to an LS swap if you wanted to go fast and wanted a 4 or 6L80 and high stall torque converter to get a shitload of power by keeping the engine running a bit higher.

You are correct. There are a bazillion Toyota diesel boat engines out there just begging for a Tacoma swap. Lots o torque. High cool factor. Time and money…

The more horsepower the more effective whiskey throttle is at 2am.

The only problem w/ those is the welded rear,,,not street friendly.

The consensus over on the SAS thread says 05 & later SD axles can be had pretty cheap.
