ATRAC and mts right out of that muck

Top off your diff fluid if you're worried.

Fix it sooner rather than later. But no need to down the truck unless it's leaving puddles behind.

Did a bunch of wiring for new lights today. Got the small DD brake, run, spot mounted and the spot working. All of the harness(s) are made and ready I just need to go under the truck and run the wire and connect a few. Will change out the SS3's I have for the new ones with red back light as well. Need to make a mount for the old SS3 lights. Then, don't say you weren't warned if you are behind me... will post up pictures tomorrow.

So, when I pull the pinion nut etc off, do I use red lock tight to put it back together? Also, count the turns etc but is there a torque that the nut should be?

    Tons of red is fine

You'll want a dial indicator for inch pounds to technically set it right cuz you're supposed to set it, then check everything and then pull it again and I believe new bearings have a whole range they can be in like 20 to 35 inch pounds or something to that effect.

Ecgs has a whole thing about using solid sleeves instead of crushed sleeves. So their setup is different still.

YouTube is probably your friend just so you can watch someone

Assuming I don't need a new bearing just seal... The stuff on TW I read makes it seem fairly straight forward. Count the turns on the nut and put it back the same plus one 1/64th more turn etc. I have never had this part of a rear end apart before, so new territory. Killed a lot of them but just replaced them...

If you're not putting on new bearings then doing the 1/64th of a turn with the red loctite in there should definitely be enough for the crush sleeve.

Counting the number of turns. Now you're talking pressman measurements.
Number of turns, clicks or holes.

It's part of my secret to parking lot alignments and the last one I did I got within 0.04° of the toe being perfect.
