Oh there will be some mods all right
Yeah it was actually crazy, all those places I called had none and the final top number actually had three!!! That was a while ago now but it seemed like a nice gun store so it would be worth a shot.

I’ve gotten a handful of firearms from Tilden Gun in Tilden, WI. He’s a class three dealer and made a shop out of a log cabin / man cave garage. Have not been there since 2019, but he always had a large selection of handguns and very very very reasonable prices.

I think this is the kind if place I want to deal with. I prefer local business over chains when possible. I was going to check with some of the smaller shops I've been to up north anyway once I figure out what I want. I'll add them to the list. Thank you!

I was even able to barter with him once and got $20 off the list price for a used firearm that was already on sale.

    I have two sigs. 938 and a SP2022.

Love them both. Neither have failed to fire or discharge a spent round.

My wife had a Sig 1911 and that was terrible. It failed to discharge all sorts of ammo. We sold it back to the shop and got a SW1911 ESeries and never looked back.

    Shooting stuff.. :notsure:

JK. Just looking for something to keep with me when I'm camping alone in bumfuck, nowhere. I don't think that I would carry it much, if at all.

If you’re worried about the samsqanch I would go no smaller than .40SW.

Glock 23 will get it done.

1911 will only give you 7+1. Or 8+1 with the pinky grip extension. Or you could carry a custom 15+ extended mag and look like a doof.

Springfield XDM will also do nicely if you need to go to war. Obvi in .40SW

The above being said. If you’re a good shot a 1911 might do it. I’ve carried my wife’s 1911 deer hunting before when a bear made home a couple paces past my stand.

Hey bro, firearms are a passion of mine - been around them all my life. I train regularly, conceal carry, and have started competitive shooting.

If you want help wading through the info out there, feel free to slide into my DMs.

Honestly, my plan if a bear ever approaches my camp is to lock myself in the 4runner and take off if necessary. Although, I don't ever see that happening.

I just want something for just in case, really. I'm more concerned about crazy hill people than animals.

Apparently I am still aways out from making a decision here. I'm open to suggestions.
