It goes in front of the transfer case and is effectively a doubler, giving a double low range. Currently my stock manual transmission crawl ratio is (1st gear, low range, Axle) 3.98 x 2.57 x 4.30 = 44:1. Adding the doubler will add another 2.57:1 reduction increasing the crawl ratio 3.98 x 2.57 x 2.57 x 4.3 = 113:1. It is beneficial in a manual to have as it's easier to manipulate the clutch as well as making it last longer (not having to slip it as much), also more torque at low RPM's. I'm not sure how much torque the 3.5L has at idle but even if it's only 10 ft/lbs at 113:1 reduction that equates to 1130 ft/lbs at the wheels while idling.

Plus who doesn't enjoy quality time laying on the concrete under a vehicle.... My body hurts just thinking about it.

So will you be able to let it idle and it will crawl alone at a mile per hour over rocks while you stand outside watching it? lol

I feel this. I was a hurting unit after I installed my lift. My 10 ply ass can't handle all the squatting and kneeling on ice cold concrete like it used to.

Hey! You got your suspension in? How did it go? How's the ride?

Finally yes. I waited until we had those 40 degree days. Overall it went ok, had a little trouble with the tired ends and had to drop the lower control arm from the spindle to get the new struts in.
As for ride, initially I was surprised how much it felt like the stock sport suspension. Currently the front is a bit over sprung until I get the new bumper and sliders so maybe not too surprising.
After about a week the shocks seemed to bed in and ride a bit smoother.

I am super happy I did it though. I ran out of time so I didn't do the ECGS bushing. That will happen this weekend if the weather holds.

Also I now have an RCI aluminum skid and am expecting sliders in the next few weeks.
I heard somewhere that RCI was having a sale :anonymous:

I still need to order lights as I will lose the factory fogs with the new bumper. I should get on that with lead-times being what they are now. :spending:
