Hey to my fellow WI Tacoma owners.

My name is Tyler and i'm out in Wales WI.

I had a 2012 Tacoma SR5 DCSB went to a 2016 Tundra Crewmax and am recently back into a Tacoma with a 2018 SR. I've modified a few things so far and have some other things on the list. I plan to use the truck for some overlanding and camping as well as daily driving.

Just wanted to introduce myself here and see what my neighbors are up to.

Hope to see you all around!

Got my (new to me) used from a 2016 TRD Off Road skid plate. (Bolts and washers included) Going to do a quick clean, scratch pad, paint and seal.

$20 seemed reasonable. Oil changes are gonna suck now that the skid needs to be dropped. Oh well. Good for a while.

Really hoping to make it Saturday. I would expect to get there in the mid-afternoon. It would be cool to meet up with some Tacomaworld people there.

you don't need to take off the full skid, you just need to remove the access panel to get the filter. the drain plug isnt covered, there is an access hole.

On a stock off road skid?

I didn’t know. Thanks!!! I assumed the front comes off each time.

I cleaned it up last night. (I forgot to take pictures) Degrease, quick blast of the edges in the pram machine, a light scotchbrite and finally a alcohol wipe. Hit the edges with primer and put it in the oven overnight. The paint guy at work said It had 5 shots of paint and is baking in the paint oven now. Can’t wait to get back to work tonight!
I’m debating on letting my kid paint a logo on the center!
She said a dark blue “BOB” ...
My daughter named my first truck Bob and my wife said my ‘17 is “BOB 2.0”

Now I just need a lift , new rims, a camper shell, etc, etc, ... lol

I fill up my truck twice a week and my tolls on my I-pass. Then I take a $100.00 per week for miscellaneous. Lunches/ late night dinners working/beer stop.

It’s amazing how you can blow $100 a week in cash!

I usually spend $40-50 and leave some cash in the work locker daily! If the wife sees it’s Wednesday and only got a $20 in my wallet she’ll swap it out for a fresh $50!
The nest-egg is growing. Sometimes you find say a skid plate on fb marketplace! My thought on it is buy what you want and wait for her to discover the purchase. My man cave has new stuff all the time. “Where did this come from?”
Oh, that? My buddy at work asked me if I wanted it.

    @Larry Dangerfield
Remember Friday’s bar never cuts off alcohol but you can’t take it out of the bar or out of the Friday’s outdoor patio area!
Friday’s outdoor patio area is also a smoking section.
