Maybe this September I'll try to take a long weekend and check it out. I'll be sure to send a couple invites out to see if you're interested

i'm like almost half way there already
but it seems rather high and rocky for small stock
    :notsure:
i am not sure but i do not think they are getting anywhere near the amount of snow they saw record last year

which is good, less chance of western Iowa going under again

Ski resorts in Colorado are reporting above average snow accumulation. River basins have above average snowpack.

“Steamboat has received 186 inches at mid-mountain, as compared to 152 on this date last year and 109 in 2018. Wolf Creek, which has received 220 inches, didn’t hit the 200-inch mark last year until Jan. 22.”

All from an article last week about how the ski season is doing.

what side of the divide are those on?
steamboat looks on the west so it goes to CA
wolf creek looks too far south to go into Iowa at all

    :notsure:

what can you tell us about WY and MT snow

there is basically no snow on the ground from Denver all the way to probably Hastings NE
the only snow i saw is basically in the valleys where the sun does not shine much
but still on the ground, maybe 2 inches, and cold in Omaha/Council Bluffs

I’m not your personal weatherman. You are perfectly capable of looking these things up yourself.

Keep me in the loop on this. I'll make sure to plan the fall camping trip around it.

Or, maybe we can just do the camping trip out that way.

That's probably the only way I'll ever get all of those Iowa Bastards to come on the trip anyway:boink:

I still want to get a group up to the pipeline for a day trip at least, though. I want to enjoy it as much as possible before the rest of it gets closed down. I don't like the idea of having to go out of state for any decent trails, but it seems like it's just a matter of time.:(

Anyone know if anywhere around rents out roof top tents? Like to try it out before deciding to buy or not.

Not seeing a trail. Looks more like a cornfield.

The Pipeline is closed from March 14th until June 1.

I'll be looking for new places to check out this spring.

I managed to get the 4runner dirty at Yucca Penns and Babcock/Webb wildlife areas. We saw 0 alligators, unfortunately. Still had fun driving through and looking around.20200203_153036.jpg

Catch and fish down there? I was in S. FL over New Years and had a ton of fun fishing the canals. Caught snook, tarpon, cichlid, tilapia, oscar, gar, LM and peacock bass. Also saw bunches of gators and a couple of croc.

You bet! We've caught snook, redfish, sheepshead, black drum, mangrove snapper, Jack Crevalle, and catfish(hardhead and sail) all from the dock. The black drum have been the highlight, as I've caught a few at 10# and lost what I think was a bigger one.

LMAO! We tried to see some Gators on Friday, but all we did was get the 4runner muddy.
