Sounds about right to me. I think I got them a little cheaper on a sale at Discount Tire, same model

Depends on the size and load rating. Discount tire also seems to run a sale every few weeks which can save you some coin

I've heard that I shouldn't get LT rated.

Typically LT / E, you’ll loose 3-5 mpg over the factory or SL or C tires

True, but if you actually use your truck for trucking, you're gonna want tires meant for load carrying.

That being said, it's a taco.... Don't truck too hard with it

If your taco weighs 7000 lbs, you should have bought a tundra

True story. Ever since OVT, I think the tune is balancing against my spirited driving....

Although the other day, short run from city to home, with all 3 windows open doing .... More than 70, but less than 90, :D the damn thing was reading 22.9..... must have been the perfect air temp/density

Load range C are LT tires as well as D, E, etc.

Load range C in stock size was a negligible loss in fuel economy for me.

Load range E are 10 ply and tend to be super heavy, and get crappy fuel economy. Also, they're totally unnecessary for a little Tacoma.

@Pixeltim - pay attention to weight when comparing tires. Some are heavier than others. Plus, heavier tires tend to ride harsher than lighter tires.

This truck can definitely get some good numbers, especially after being tuned

    Pretune I hit 27 sustained.

Haven't done anything super long since the tune, other than STL-ATR, but I was trying to outrun @Sasquatch3153 and his headlights...

    Funny how that works!
Oddly enough, the MINI I traded in got the same mileage regardless of how I drove it. The Tacoma, well not so much.
