Wife and I had some fun running around the UP 2? weeks ago. The Apostles are GORGEOUS. Photo is from stopping at the mine in Houghton

 

I was up that way a month or so back and the area is amazing. Definitely need to spend more time exploring the UP.

 

I stopped at Performance Off-road Thursday afternoon for a quick suspension inspection. Ball joints and bushings all look good.

I can't say the same for my gas tank skid. I think it's time to get a real skid back there before I puncture the tank.



The rest of the skids are still paying for themselves. Aside from needing a fresh coat of paint, they're holding up well.

 

What skids you running?

 

SOS. I do not recommend buying anything from those guys, though. I had fitment issues with the skids, and it seems that their customer service has gone in the shitter.

 

That's a shame. It seems like the list of good fabricators is getting smaller every day.

 

I switched out my front skid to a RCI skid. I have their trans skid and gas tank skid waiting to go on. Just have to change out the gas tank straps.
RCI now makes a roof rack I'm looking at.

 

The list is definitely getting short and lead times are crazy if you can even get an order in.

 

Yup. I was dealing with one of their guys who was helpful, and then I found out he had left. Not sure what's going on but it sounds like they might be circling the drain.

 

Looks like my Mobtown Skid set are now a collector's edition since they closed up shop. Too bad they had nice stuff.

As an aside, how has your Dobinson set up been treating you? It's on my short list.

 

I've been happy with the Dobinsons, they have been preforming well for my needs. The finish has been also been holding up well after all the salt in winter. In a few weeks will be giving the suspension a workout in MOAB so I can report back after.
