That turned out nice! I have a Blue Sea 3000 switch I'll be installing with my winch. It's a larger switch but maybe something similar would work. Thanks for the idea @McSpazatron

It’s real solid even though the mount is held down with just one nut screwed into the battery strap j-bolt. The front of the tab is profiled to fit the strap channel, and completely locks it down side to side.

Im surprised you havent had a spare 2hours to mount your bumper/winch yet :D Looking forward to pics!

Still waiting on 1 last thing for the install. I ordered the Warn Zeon winch control pack relocation from SDHQ in December. I guess they are having supply issues on some of the parts in the kit. I actually was contemplating ordering the Warn universal relocation kit today because I will possibly have time this weekend to install.

If you need an extra set of hands for the install let me know.

Are you relocating the control pack because you think it might not fit? Just curious.

It won't fit. There is a brace for the upper part of the bumper cover that runs right where the control pack would sit on the winch. I've seen some cut out the center portion of the brace and then make and add other supporting brackets, but I'd rather not cut the brace if I can just relocate the control pack.

You can see in this thread where he cut out the brace https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...nstall-guide-how-to-article-with-tips.545427/

Actually the install will be kinda involved for me. On top of installing the bumper, and winch stuff. I'm going to have to relocate the coolant pump for the supercharger (Should have did that when I installed it but it was cold and I didn't want to think about it). I also got heavier coil springs for the front shocks that will have to go on, since I'm already pushing the preload limit of the springs I have.

Probably turn into an all weekend job, which is another reason it hasn't been done yet lol.

Makes sense. Totally get the decision to install the TC coolant pump and not put the noodling time required to figure out a new solution. Every new project for me takes like 10 times more time to think and plan compared to the doing.

Holy cow, that thread is Hodakaguy! He used to post some insane builds on advrider.com. Particularly an awesome unimog he built up beautifully. The guy is a fab monster! Apparently he decided to simplify to a Tacoma lol. Probably easier on the gas budget haha

    No u

If anyone ever made a Camry skid plate I almost garuntee it would fit your outback perfectly. It's uncanny how similar those cars are in certain respects....

Helps that the outback is made on a leased Camry assembly line lol

Relentless Fab hybrid bumper, 2.5” Dobinsons IMS lift, RCI skids and sliders, block heater. Painted FJ Steelies. Was trying to keep it stock, now slowly building for the Wisconsin trails.
So IF one were going to go with 20 degree sliders does the top plate make sense? Or would it be enough to just add grip tape to use as a step?
Looking at the photos it looks like the 20 degree sliders lose a fair amount of step area.

What's the matter Larry... doesn't look like that is sitting to well with you and your Subaru. Gotta chuckle at least.

I have the rci 20 degree no top plate. If I did it again I'd go top plate. I did the grip tape once and it was just a cheese grater on the back of the legs getting in and out. They're not too good for a step unless your short.
