What bulbs do they come with? On the 4runners, a lot of guys modify H9 bulbs to fit in place of the h11s.

Whatever you do, I would avoid drop in LED replacements.

I have no idea but I'm definitely going to have to take a look soon.

In my case, I replaced my h11s with higher output h11s. Mine are the Osram night breaker lasers, and I put in the night breaker unlimited for the high beams. I'm pretty satisfied with both of them. But, I also have ditch lights and a light bar for off-road scenarios.

Third gen sealed headlight assemblies are kind of annoying to take apart and reassemble with new bulbs. Better off doing entire new assemblies. Plenty of them out there but none of them are cheap

There's a massive thread on here about upgrading the halogen bulbs. The reason why they're low output from the factory (like most halogens) is for long life. Otherwise too many people would complain about swapping bulbs regularly.

One major con to keep in mind with LED/HID is that they don't create enough outward heat to melt ice/snow building up in the winter. They're great otherwise, when done correctly. Meaning, don't put LED bulbs in the stock halogen housings; they appear brighter at the source, but fail to project properly.

Low beams are h11, high beams are h9. Common low beam upgrade is either a high performance h11 or trimming the internal tab of an h9.

In this case, I definitely recommend the Osram Nightbreakers. I went stock H11 to the Nightbreakers, and saw a significant improvement.

@Larry Dangerfield , this is what I have:

OSRAM NIGHT BREAKER LASER H11, next generation, 150% more brightness, halogen headlamp, 64211NL-HCB, 12V, passenger car, duo box (2 lamps) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07FXRDJW2?_encoding=UTF8

I did find this to be the case on a few occasions with the factory LED headlights. Mostly with wet packy snow. Not bad enough to deter me from getting again though.

That's definitely the more popular option on the 4Runner forum. But, I decided to just try direct replacements and it's been satisfactory.

I bought the fancy Diode Dynamics fogs... too damn bright to run all the time now (getting complaints from friends-and they ARE adjusted per the instructions.)

sport/pro/max? I think the sports are probably the most appropriate for street….even aimed well, you can nuke a decent percentage of vehicles with the other ones.

That's good to know. I have been planning on getting a set in yellow for quite some time. I just haven't pulled the trigger on them yet. I was going to go with the mid grade ones, but now I'm not so sure.

ive got the rigid SAE ones. no issues if they are adjusted right.. might are slightly high right now since the front end was redone after I hit that deer last fall.

Pro... they are amazing, just can't run them all the time like factory.

yeah, I love the beam pattern of the pros (a little taller and wider) but I think the sports are probably going to get you the least harassment…then again, I have a 42” DD bar tied into my highbeams via my switch-pro…so maybe I don’t know anything. On the new bumper I’m going with sports for fogs and pros for highbeams.

    People are dumb.

The yellow is solid. Get the Pro (mid grade). I love my sports, but in actual inclement weather I wish I had the Pros

    Yes you can.

You're gonna want the Pros for real fogs. Use the sports for low speed/wide angle ditch lights (if you don't get the excellent SSC2s)

Thanks for the input! I suppose I should have asked if others were referring to the yellow or white. I want to use them as fogs, so yellow it is. I already have enough supplemental white light. :D
