Oh, definitely. I could build a kick-ass old school Landcruiser and buy a new Z and still have money left.

Didn't know what that was but Google'd it out of curiosity. Looks kinda neat. This guy has a custom G Map and halfway looks like the Perch Lake area where there are multiple campgrounds. I'd start there and see what you like.

You will be in NF most all of the way so dispersed camping possibilities abound. I don't know specifics because I usually go up from Bruce Crossing and haven't explored below... If you see an interesting road go explore and who knows what amazing campsite you might find! Make sure to tell me if you find a good one though...

I can say that once you get to Copper harbor it will be busy. The road to the point is just gravel and bumpy, at first. Once you turn and go in it gets rougher and the mud holes are epic if full. One creek crossing, but shallow. Only a handful of sites out there. Turn to missile site is narrow and scratchy. We made two sites work out there but you will need to get creative as there is not much room and it gets lots of visitors. There are other better sites further on past the turn off the main road, but the roads (trail) in is a goat track carved out by UTV's... full sized rigs? Wouldn't want to try-although I did see a mid 90's Suburban (37's, lockers etc.) get in there... PM me for more specifics on that one if interested.

    Cheers

    Pat

Hey, I’ll be doing it for the first time in a couple of weeks as well. Going to drive from Kenosha and then I think hop on the trail from Crandon.

Then spend a day in Copper Harbor for some Mountain Biking.

Has anyone in this Wisconsin group purchased rock sliders from any local fabrication shops??

Getting a set shipped from out west really brings up the price quickly.

I have the 4x Innovations bolt-ons and they are nice. Not sure if there is a disount/coupon code any more but used to be 5% though I can't find the code. Price is good and they shipped faster than expected.

Edit: Code is tacomaworld5 , found in vendor section in his signature.

Thanks for linking them. This may be the ones I go with. Glad to see a shop selling them out this way.

Also they are far enough western Wisconsin that I might find myself wandering into Iowa to track down some of that Hard Mountain Dew

I haven't personally bought anything from them yet, but I have emailed them and they were responsive. From what I've seen I would not hesitate to go with them.

Plus, Platteville is near the driftless area. There are a lot of nice curvy roads that wind through the little valleys near the Wisconsin River basin. That whole area is really enjoyable to drive through. And, you should probably have a beer at Potosi since you will be so close.

I’ve lived in Wisconsin for about 6 years now and have rarely done any exploring on the western Half.

Anything west of Madison is new territory to me. I’ve been meaning to see the drift less area and drive the Trans Wisconsin trail at some point.

If Potosi is out that way, I will definitely be stopping in for a drink. I’ve had some great stuff from them in the past.

Yea man, and they go for way less than other imports.

The challenge would be finding parts, imo.

I would think it would share a lot of parts with the 80 series. :notsure:

I have their swing out rear bumper and full skids. No complaints, really. I forget who made my skids but at the time they didn't have bolt ons for tacomas. Either way, everything I have of theirs is pretty solid
