Wish Buyers Had Option to order

2024 Tacoma with scoop or without. So TRD Limited hood doesn't have scoop but the Sport does. Seems odd to have completely different looking hoods on different models and not let buyer chose what they prefer.

Also why not let buyers decide if they want truck delivered with air dam on or off? Personally I'd prefer a smaller size but that's wishful thinking. Yea I know you can remove with 9 bolts loosened, but come on. Hey, honey I just bought a new truck but now spending 50 minutes taking parts off.

Lastly not everyone going off road so why not make the center console grip handle optional? Seems some what out of place and really how often is someone actually going to grab this thing?

Overall I like the 2024 package but Toyota seems to have gotten carried away with a few items.

 

Please show me a manufacture that builds mass produced vehicles under $100k to where you get a fully customized build.

 

Toyota doesn’t build to order. They build to spec. Making those options available with such granularity doesn’t fit that business model.

You can wish they’d change it, but if you’re asking “why,” there’s your answer

 

The Big 3 all allow custom orders, not to the extent of "keep the air dam off" but at least you can order the rear end you want, and get specific options without having to add a "Premium Package".

 

If you want a scoop then buy a Sport, if not then pick a different trim level.

 

Yea, power train and rear end option yes, but a freaking grab handle removal and air damn....

 

Don't forget custom pink leather with pasties on the headrests.

 

I do not like sunroofs But if you want leather seats they come with hole in roof I will buy base model to avoid the unwanted unused hole in roof. That should be option on any model. A hole in the roof who thought that was a good idea?

 

I believe most TW members like buying the trim closest to what they want and Mod it on their own. That is what makes it rare to see a scooped hood on an Off Road etc.

 

Thats why I went 2018 pro over 2019 pro for the extra head room.

 

They’d prob have to change the EPA fuel numbers on the sticker if they removed the air dam. Also prob has implications for their CAFE compliance.

I’m fine with the builds they usually offer but I’m simple. What I do wish is the ability to confidently reserve an allocation on a Toyota run network instead of taking some sales chud’s word for it.

 

You can get an off-road, and likely other models, with cloth seats and no sunroof. Then you can add leather seats on it a la cart from the dealer. I just did exactly that on a 3rd gen OR and now have leather with no sunroof. I think it was $800 to swap to leather seats.

 

WTF - are you telling me if you want leather seats for your new 2024 Tacoma you also have to accept a sunroof? That's crazy chit. Sunroofs leak noise (when closed), reduce head clearance levels, might leak water in future, etc. Hopefully this is misquote since what the heck do leather seats have to do with a bogus sun roof? Especially if the Tacoma comes with a back seat (bed) window.

 

trim levels come with a suite of specs and features. everything isn’t a la carte.

 

That grab handle on the console is a waste of plastic, hope Toyota cheaps out on the SR and it gets deleted.

 

Understand but sun roof and leather seats are apples and oranges. Completely different animals. One is for your butt to sit on and the other is for your head to breath. If Toyota is saying you have to buy one and then accept the other - that sucks. Sounds like a "money" grab.

 

Seems Toyota can't accept an above "passenger door" grab handle which is standard on pretty much every truck and lots of cars. Easy to reach and hold on to. Grab handle on console might be of use for a hobbit or someone 5' or shorter. Waste of money.

 

Should be XC manual everything, all the HP and torque sans hybrid. Big rear end with the locker, 4x4 and what ever color I want from that years production options. Fog lights and black fender flares. Leave the emblems in the glove box.

 

You'd think Toyota could have engineered a driver's side grab handle, I'll accept what ever risk it poses to the driver. The passenger side gets a nice recessed grab handle, that one on the console does not look like it would help with egress to the truck. That detachable JBL speaker in the dash seems like it would pose more risk to the occupants in a crash, than a DSGH not that I'm concerned with a flying bluetooth speaker.

 

Arn't you the poster always stating prices dropping, prices this, prices that? Yet, you want to custo-build?
