Less capable. Ive been off road with a few fools with off road everything 2wd trucks and they got stuck in mud and i did just fine stock with 4wd.

that depends on the situation, if you need traction on an icy road then an open diff 4x4 is going to outperform a locked 2wd.

If you're talking about crossing big ruts or off camber situations then yeah, I could see a locked 2wd doing better than an open diff 4x4. If a front wheel and a rear wheel loses traction on an open diff 4x4 then you're stuck. Assuming the locked 2WD has good traction on it's rear wheel then theoretically it could cross the same rut that the open 4x4 got hung up on. But these days, there's ATRAC and other traction aids that assist in providing traction to the loose wheel so I still think an open diff 4x4 would be better in most situations.

Its a technicality. Trd OR 2wd vs 4wd sport.

With the way basic 4wd works you are sending power to one front and one rear wheel in 4wd..
    =2 wheels powered.

Trd or 2wd when locked powers both rear wheels. =2 wheels powered

I'm guessing the dealership might of put some off road stickers on it and called it a off road. Look up the vin and see if it specifically says it's a off road.
