Sounds like you got fast service from your insurance company.

Then when the half ass repair failed you can be out the whole amount out of you pocket again since you opted to have it half done. Not to mention the fact its insurance fraud to profit from your claim. Ican think of better ways to make money that dont include possible jail time if you get caught.

 We're talking about soldering a couple of wires in this instance. It's not rocket science.

I am aware of what it takes. My point is simply if the insurance company is paying to put him back to pre-loss condition without soldering why not let them do it?

And once again if there is an issue later its on you because you didnt let the insurance company see it prior to the repair. My point is if you have insurance like he obviously does and is willing to pay the deductible which he obviously is why not get it done right and have the harness replaced.

if you had the money to spare, that would be the best idea. i think that it was brought up as a suggestion in case he wanted to save money, it could be done for cheaper. Just because he has insurance, doesn't mean that he HAS to use it..

For real, that's why my shit goes in a garage every night, and even that is not enough sometimes, last summer had 2 very expensive downhill mountain bikes taken from my garage, they left the road bike and didn't touch my unlocked Taco . F-ing nard, and yes I am planning on moving back to Ventura.

Nick, I knew where you where coming from, I was just looking at it down the road, not that the repair would fail but if it did he would have a leg to stand on the the insurance company backing him up thats all.
